Rihanna, who clearly is a fan of tattoos, proudly posed for and showed off photos of her newest ink acquisition. Inspired by Egyptian artwork, Ri Ri paid a visit to her favorite tattoo artist, one Keith Bang Bang McCurdy, to get her 17th (?) tattoo on her ankle. Previously, Rihanna has had words and sayings tattooed on her body, this time she wanted an animal … an Egyptian falcon, to be exact. Check out photos of Ri Ri‘s newest tattoo below.
They say getting a tattoo can be cathartic.
And Rihanna appeared to enjoy adding to her collection as she took a break from her romance drama in New York City this weekend.
The singer, 24, had an Egyptian falcon flying … inked just above her right ankle. Logging on to Twitter today to explain the symbolism, she wrote: ‘Falcon: a light that shines in the darkness! Never close their eyes during sleep.’ The Barbadian singer went to her regular tattoo artist, ‘Bang Bang’, on the Lower East Side on Saturday for her latest black-and-white artwork. The image is believed to mark her 17th tattoo … She also has a pistol on her thigh, a tiny cross on her collar bone, a music note on her ankle, a Pisces sign behind her right ear and the word ‘love’ on her left middle finger. A trail of stars is also emblazoned on the back of her neck, alongside the French saying ‘Rebelle Fleur’ – which means rebellious flower. Posing on a couch at Bang Bang Tattoos, Rihanna was dressed down in rugged denim and a baggy black top, her hair pulled back into a messy bun revealing her partially shaved head underneath. The star cuffed her jeans to reveal the fresh ink, still red from the needle. Rihanna shielded her eyes with oversized sunglasses and added a pop of colour to her look with yellow nails.
Falcon shit!!!! / Falcon: a light that shines in the darkness! Never close their eyes during sleep
Honestly, I am a fan of Egyptian art myself, so I really like this new tattoo. Clearly, the powerful image of the falcon resonated with her so she decided to get the regal animal inked on her body (tho, I suppose it’s possibly just as likely that Rihanna just pointed to a design in a book and said, That one!). The placement is nice tho, from a distance, it might be difficult to tell what it is. It sounds like Rihanna loves her new tattoo, do you?
