The Killers are readying the release of their new album, titled Battle Born, and to get fans excited (or to remind folks that they exist) they have released a video trailer to tease the album’s release. The clip doesn’t really show us much but it does give us a taste of some new music and it shows just how much fun The Killers have when they hang out together on the beach. Check out the album trailer below.
The Killers have revealed the trailer for their new album ‘Battle Born’ … The clip begins with a sunset before moving on to a campfire scene and spelling out the band’s logo letter by letter. The band themselves are then revealed in a montage of shots as a synth line builds in the background, culminating in a thundering crescendo and the message at the album will be released “Fall 2012″. Last month, singer Brandon Flowers explained the title of the album, which is also the name of the band’s own studio and a nickname for their home state of Nevada, commenting: “In a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better.” Drummer Ronnie Vanucci added: “It’s living up to its title. This is our difficult fourth record.” Song titles confirmed for the record include ‘Heart Of A Girl’, ‘Flesh And Bone’, ‘Carry Me Home’ and ‘Runaways’ and producers credited with working on the LP include Madonna collaborator Stuart Price, Steve Lillywhite, Damian Taylor and Brendan O’Brien. Flowers has also said the band have taken a “risk” leaving a near five-year gap between their last album ‘Day & Age’ and their new one. He told Q: “It’s still eclectic, I’ve not thrown the keyboards away. But it’s definitely heavier.”
I love The Killers so I’m really looking forward to the release of this album. I can’t say that I really cared for Brandon Flowers‘s solo debut so, yeah, it’ll be great to have the guys back with new tunes. I’m not all that jazzed by this trailer but, well, at least it’s something for fans to obsess over until we get to hear new music. Hopefully the band will release the album’s first single soon … I’m curious to hear what this “heavier” new album will sound like.
