Paris Jackson, the only begotten daughter of the late Michael Jackson, will be profiled on the next episode of Oprah Winfrey‘s new TV series Oprah’s Next Chapter and in a newly released preview clip, Paris talks to Oprah about her masked childhood. As you may recall, Michael Jackson never let his children been seen in public with him without being masked. Paris explains that as a young child, she used to be really confused by the mask-wearing but as she grew up, she understood the real reason why MJ wanted his children to be masked in public. Paris Jackson was “confused” about why she had to wear a mask in public when she was younger, she tells Oprah on Oprah’s Next Chapter, via the BBC. “I understand it now, why my dad would want our face to be covered,” she said. “Like when we went out without him, we wouldn’t be recognized, so we could have a normal childhood.” “Smart,” said Oprah in response. Paris also talks about how her father felt he never had a normal childhood because of his singing career, so it was important for him that his children have the chance to be normal kids. “Chuck E Cheese’s was one of his favorite places to go,” she said. The full interview is scheduled to air June 10.
You may recall that Paris appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last December and then she and her brothers — Prince Michael Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson, II — appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show back in 2010 … so clearly, she is totally fine with appearing on TV. I suspect that quite a few people will tune in this weekend to see Paris‘s interview on Oprah’s Next Chapter. I don’t know that we will learn anything new about her childhood but Paris may reveal what her future plans are. Paris Jackson previously revealed that she would like to start acting so … perhaps she will make an announcement? There is still much interest about Michael Jackson‘s children so, stay tuned … we should be hearing soon what’s next in store for the Jackson kids.
