First Look: The First Photo Of Jessica Simpson’s Baby Hits The Internets

We have been waiting for this moment since Jessica Simpson and her fiancé Eric Johnson welcomed their daughter Maxwell Drew on May 1st, and today we finally have the FIRST PHOTO of the blessed newborn. Jessica and Eric decided to wait to unveil the first pics of their baby girl, choosing not to unveil the pics themselves, and allegedly sold the photos to People magazine for $800,000. While celebs like Hilary Duff and Beyoncé chose to give away the first photos of their children, other celebs prefer to cash in the huge amounts of money that can come with the rights to those exclusive first pics. Regardless, check out the very first, EXTREMELY CUTE pic of Maxwell Drew Simpson-Johnson.

Welcome to the world Maxwell Drew Johnson. Aren’t you a cutie?! We have been waiting to meet you for weeks now. We waited for what seemed like years for your momma to birth you, and when she did, we waited for those first pics of your adorable little face. But, while the new parents tweeted some snippets of information about their daughter, no pics were released at all, nothing was even leaked. We learned why a couple of weeks ago, and now it is confirmed – People magazine were given the exclusive rights to the first pics of Maxwell Drew.

In this week’s issue, Simpson and Johnson give an exclusive interview, plus share the first photos of their little one, who’s inherited her mom’s eyes and her dad’s calm demeanor. “Life has completely changed,” Simpson, 31, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “From how I sleep to what I think about, Maxwell has definitely taken over everything!” “We stare at her all the time,” says Simpson. “We can’t get enough!”

But becoming new parents hasn’t been without its hardships. Recovering from surgery – Simpson delivered via C-section – isn’t easy, she says, and nursing, which she does throughout the day, has become “a full-on job.” Still, “It’s the worst if I have to pump and give Eric a bottle to give her,” says Simpson. “I miss holding her and having that closeness.”

So, pushing aside the whole ‘selling a photo of your child for $800K thing,’ let’s take a look at the blessed little girl. Maxwell Drew is completely, 100% adorable y’all. Look at her little squishy face, her chubby cheeks, her cherub lips and tiny nose. Ugh, she is such a lil’ munchkin. New mom Jess looks gorgeous too, and seriously happy holding her gorgeous baby girl. I do love this photo and I want more. Now that the Johnson-Simpson family have presumably been given their FAT check, lets hope we get to see some more candid and regular pics of the newborn and the happy family.

Ohmygosh. What a cute little baby! She is so chubby I could just squish her! Jessica and Eric are so blessed! And now that the first pics are released, here’s to seeing many more pictures of that chubby little face!

  • Kim M

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with selling the first pictures of their baby. Because you know the paparazzi are going to be fighting to get those first pics and then make thousands and thousands of money themselves off of them! So why can’t celebs do it too?!?

    • ChristineLA

I agree, this doesn’t bother me at all. It’s always nice when they donate the money to charity, but they are certainly not obligated to do that.

    • Lulu

I’m going to echo this too. Also, who is to say that they didn’t give all the money to charity? And if they did, I know I certainly wouldn’t make it public… then you are just bragging about a good deed.

Regardless, totally okay, and I’m not sure why you had to mention it so many times in such a negative way, it was rather off putting to read…… :/

    • nicole

i agree. not really a big deal. besides for all we know that money went to charity or even went away for Maxwell.

    • Ben@pr

Definitely the parents have all the right to sell their babies pics to the highest bidder. That money could be use for a trust fund or give it away to charity.

  • Katie

Ugh, what a little chubbster! Want…to…squish!

  • Colleen

So adorable!!! What a little chunky monkey! I love the name too…very cute. Also, I can’t say I wouldn’t sell pics of my kid either! You gotta do what you gotta do to make a living :) good for them!

  • Sandy

She’s so fluffy, I’m gonna die!

  • Courtney

Maxwell is a cutie for sure as for selling the pics celebs have been doing so for nearly 75 years starting with Frank Sinatra 850k isn’t small change for most people but compaired to the first published photos of Lucy Dahl getting 3.85 million in March 1966 when an Issue of life magazine cost 50 cemts while a newsstand issue of people magazine 46 years later costs $5.25 and a mail subscription issue at best price is a $1.76

  • nicole

shes so big! and so chubby! oh i just want to pinch her!

  • Joanna

I want to squish her, so cute! I still wish her name was Maxine, though lol! :)

  • Joanna

Hmmm…btw, I hope Jess is not starting in on the plastic surgery too much, too soon! Her face looks weird. Hope it’s just her body and hormones getting back to normal after being pregnant. she’s such a pretty girl, don’t start looking like the cat lady, please!

    • Sarah

      I think it’s called Photoshop.

    • Joanna

ahhh…you know, I think you are right. Never understood the heavy handedness of some of these touch up artists, lol

  • Kevin

Wow, the cover of this People magazine brings me back to 1999-early 2000s….Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. LOL. Her baby is truly adorable, though!!!

    • Mhat85

ahahahaha I was thinking the EXACT same thing about all three on the cover!!! And yes, that baby is truly adorbs!!:)

  • Nadine

Well her fiancé doesn’t work so I’m assuming extra cash can come in handy for their lifestyle. Or does he work? What does he do? And is the best shot they could get of Maxwell? Not very impressive (sorry but it’s true) for $800,000 People! Perhaps there are better pictures inside the mag!

  • jessica

Sorry but am I the only one thinking her daughter is FUGLY and on top of that maxi pad jokes are going to follow her around. Take the $800.000 kid and hide with what dignity you can.

    • gayana

no ure not the only one……… i happen to think she isnt that cute either…………

  • Pauline

adorable daughter! but i really think they should spell her name, maxwelle, it’s more feminine. shouldnt care about dat, but i kinda bothers me..
