Sun-kissed beauty, Blake Lively, is on the cover of Bullet magazine summer issue today and chatting about Gossip Girl and other things. As she prepares to bid farewell to the soap opera that made her famous, Blake is trying to break free from the Upper East Side typecast that introduced her to fame. Blake is going to be appearing in Oliver Stone’s Savages and today we get to see her all sexed up and looking Blake-ish. Read on to find out how she feels about the end of her Serena Van Der Woodsen era and check out the photoshoot for Bullett.
Ever the photogenic, Blake has been photographed by David Slijper and covers the magazine in a Chanel tulle dress. Her other looks come from Lanvin and Prada. My personal favorite is where she dons a white dress with a silver, seemingly metal, peplum style detail.
Blake looks very model-esque in this photoshoot, and almost like her alter ego, Serena Van der Woodsen. As Gossip Girl prepares for it’s final season, which is due to start in the fall, it’s cast (including Ms Lively) are coming to terms with the end of the show that catapulted them to stardom.
What did Blake have to say about the show’s end?
“I think the best way to describe it is like someone who really enjoyed high school, and is like, I’m a senior and I can’t wait for the next thing! Gossip Girl was so great, but what’s the next challenge in life? Because, you know, six years is a long time. And as an actor who plays a caricature of myself on the show, I don’t think I’d say, Watch Gossip Girl for my best quality of work. But I am very lucky to have had that experience.”
At least she’s honest. I think Blake is right, Gossip Girl isn’t her best work as an actress but as a big GG fan, I will be sad when it comes to it’s eventual end. I was surprised to hear Blake’s ambivalence to the finishing up of her Serena era, but I guess she is correct to be looking forward and onto bigger and better things. It seems that is already happening for her – I’m excited to see Blake in Savages. Are you a fan of Blake Lively? What do you think of her Bullet Magazine shoot?
