Disney Day

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a bright, sunny and hot day here in SoCal … which, of course, meant that I had to make my down to Anaheim, CA to spend some time in Disneyland! I wanted to do some serious walking yesterday and I’ve always wanted to take daytime Polaroid photos at Disneyland so yesterday was the day. Despite the heat, I had a pretty fun day snapping away all over the resort. It was Bat’s Day at Disneyland so the park was teeming with goths dressed in crushed velvet, leather, long sleeves … all in BLACK! I have no idea how they managed to endure the heat but all I saw was smiling faces.

I’ve mentioned this before but ever since I was little, I always dreamed of having access to Disneyland whenever my heart desired. I’ve been an annual passholder since I moved to LA and I plan to be one for as long as possible. It’s an incredible treat to be able to just drive 30 mins. and spend as much or as little time as you like at the Happiest Place on Earth. I really had fun. AND to make my day even more fun, I ran into Pink reader Dominique on Main St. inside Disneyland (we are pictured above). She was so cute and it was my extreme pleasure meeting her yesterday.

Last night, David and I met up with our good friend Lisa who is visiting LA this weekend from NYC. It had been ages since we saw her last so our dinner was a very nice catch-up session. We love Lisa so much, it’s always a pleasure getting to spend time with her.

I’m feeling MUCH better today … I really think the sun did me good yesterday and the 4 hours on my feet really did a lot to loosen up my legs). I’m planning on a nice long run today so wish me luck! Tonight, David and I are having a date night and it’s a surprise so … HMMM. I’ll have to let you know how it turns out. Happy Monday, y’all! XO

I am beyond bummed out about the rate increase that went into effect yesterday! I am a season pass holder as well, but there is no way I can afford to renew my pass and my son’s when the year is up. Thanks, Disneyland, for pricing your park out of the reach of single moms! No chance I am falling for your monthly payment plan, if you can’t afford to pay for it all at once, you really don’t need to be entering the Most Expensive Place on Earth at all.

:( I miss Cali, I moved to Louisiana 6 months ago and I am coming back home. Can’t wait to go to Disneyland :)
    Thanks Trent for posting pictures.

We are lucky living in So Cal. I grew up about 20 miles from Disney, and in the summer, my dad would drop the kids off at Disney every day on his way to work. Both parents had jobs, and they figured it was better than being bored around the house and getting into mischief while they weren’t there. I know the place intimately and know much of the insider triva that most guests to the park aren’t aware of. Did you know that it was a deliberate design that you aren’t able to see beyond the park’s borders? While you are there, you are totally immersed in Disney and the surrounding landscape of Anaheim doesn’t creep in. No wonder I went to work for Disney Studios in Burbank when I became an adult. Best. Job. EVER.

I worked for Disney for 2 1/2 years. It’s funny because (in my experience) often times guests know more trivia than the cast members do! I do miss going to DL whenever I want. I was just there Friday and saw Vanessa Williams and Rick Fox. My poor mom, I wore her out lol.
Reading your blog always makes me smile, Trent. :)

    • @Lynne — XOXOXO :)
