Watch: Lady Gaga Guest Stars On ‘The Simpsons’

The Simpsons has had their fair share of celebrity guest appearance over the years, and the latest star to surface in Springfield is Lady Gaga. Today we get a sneak peek into the episode where Gaga plays herself and also some behind the scenes footage of her recording the voice of her character. From the video it is quite apparent that Lady Gaga is a huge Simpsons and Matt Groening fan, and that they too are fans of the platform wearing crazy haired lady. Watch behind the scenes clip here and get a sneak peek into the Lisa Goes Gaga episode.

” I’ve always been a huge fan of The Simpsons. I was really excited and surprised and have been itching to do some TV again. It was such an incredible script. It’s so funny,” Gaga said in the Entertainment Tonight clip.

As you can see from the pic, physically Lady Gaga is caricatured through her giant platform shoes, but aside from that, the character isn’t particularly Gaga-esque. When you watch the clip though you will see that they have definitely tried to incorporate things like her body language, how she uses her hands when she speaks and signature and nuanced facial expressions. While she recorded the voice over, artists sketched Gaga as she spoke, and this formed the cartoon you see in the episode. I think this is pretty amazing, and what makes The Simpsons so clearly brilliant.

The story behind the episode ‘Lisa Goes Gaga’ is that Lady Gaga arrives in town on a Gaga train (yes, you will see the shoe theme again), but it is actually pretty funny. The blonde haired pop star then proceeds to cheer up the town, and particularly Lisa Simpson, who is a bit depressed. I know y’all aren’t Gaga fans, but I think this episode will be worth catching regardless.. check out the clip from behind the scenes here. What do you think?

It looks like a fun episode. You can tell Matt Groening is a huge fan, and Gaga is such fertile ground for comedy, I think this episode has the potential to be pretty funny!
