Watch: Jennifer Lopez May Not Be Returning To ‘American Idol’ Next Season

After the drawn out process, and massive excitement, over the casting of the new judging panel on The X Factor, today we have learned that American Idol may soon need to find their own new judge to replace Jennifer Lopez. J.Lo has done two seasons of Idol and yesterday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show she revealed that she might not be coming back for a third.

Jennifer appeared on Ellen, alongside fellow cast mate, Cameron Diaz, to promote their latest film, What to Expect When You’re Expecting. After conversation moved on from their new movie, Ellen asked J.Lo if she is signing onto another season as a judge on Idol. This is what she had to say…

“I really do enjoy it… Now this is my second year — I don’t know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they’re getting more mobile, they’re about to go into school… So I just don’t know.”

Oy! I have actually really liked J.Lo as a judge on Idol, I think she has been gorgeous and fun, and I’m not quite sure Idol will be able do much better if she does decide to move on after this season. After The X Factor nabbed Britney Spears and Demi Lovato after weeks and weeks of speculations and deliberation if Idol did need to find a new judge, they would be taking The X Factor’s cast offs…

Watch J.Lo and Cameron on Ellen and check it out for yourself. Do you think she is coming back for another season?

Probably a negotiating ploy because she is upset Breity is getting paid more than her. She will either want the same (or more) dollars and, even she takes less, have them announce she is getting more. Big egos. Big Demands.

Oh no :( I really hope she comes back…I was never a big JLO fan, but since seeing her on Idol I absolutely love her. She’s so well spoken, honest and sweet. I’d say she’s the best judge they’ve had. I don’t think I’ll be watching next season without her.

i know people keep saying its a negotiating tact, but it seems like legit reasons to me.
