Earlier this month we got our first look at actress Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh on the set of the new film Hitchcock … but that look was from the back of her head (well, the back of her wig, actually). Today we get to check out new photos of ScarJo on set in costume as Leigh and this time we can see her face. Scarlett was snapped on set making her way from her trailer underneath a big umbrella … but it is a better look at Scarlett as Janet.
Scarlett Johansson made the transition from modern star to classic Hollywood siren, yesterday afternoon. The blonde bombshell took her look one step further as she slipped into character on the set of new movie Hitchcock. The 27-year-old was spotted dressed in costume as actress Janet Leigh, as she headed across the movie lot to start a day of filming. Scarlett tried her best to keep a low profile as she shielded herself from the sun with a huge black umbrella. The movie star was led from her trailer by a crew member as she shimmied across set passing through make-up and wardrobe. Scarlett was dressed in a cream pencil skirt which she wore with matching heels and a yellow and black sleeveless blouse. Although her head was mostly covered by the large umbrella, the star’s short curly blonde wig could just about be seen. Johansson will play the role of screen legend Janet Leigh who starred in Hitchcock’s Oscar nominated Psycho. Scarlett wasn’t the only actress seen on set today – Jessica Biel, 30, was also seen getting into character.
Even in a less than flattering wig Biel was still able to look effortlessly beautiful. The actor was spotted on set leaving the make-up department partly in character as Vera Miles. The Total Recall star was on the set of the big budget biopic with one of her dogs, but wasn’t fully changed. Biel was still dressed in her own clothes and wore a pair of jeans with a blue jumper and pumps. Both Johansson and Biel are part of the all star movie that will explore the period of Hitchcock’s life as he made his masterpiece Psycho, which was released in 1960.
You may recall that Jessica previously teased her Vera Miles character from the set but, at last, we get to see her in costume … er, well, in her wig. So … yeah … the wigs. True, they don’t look that great in these photos BUT we should remember that these photos were snapped in between film takes, in poor lighting, from a distance. I don’t suspect that the wigs will be the problem with this film IF there is a problem with this film. The fact that Sir Anthony Hopkins has been case in the titular role of Alfred Hitchcock speaks volumes about this production. With him in the lead, the film will likely turn out very well. We’ll see tho. Are any of y’all looking forward to this film? I am a HUGE fan of Psycho but I’ve yet to understand the appeal of a film about the making of a film. Am I missing something?
