Yesterday was a gloriously beautiful day here in NYC not only because of the beauteous weather but because after 35 years together in a loving, committed relationship, David’s aunts Judy and Susan got themselves married! Judy and Susan said their I Dos inside Washington Square Hotel amongst an intimate group of family and friends. Now, I’ve seen some beautiful brides in my day … but Judy and Susan made THE most beautiful brides of all. It was an honor to be included in their special day.
The wedding ceremony was the perfect length, not too long – not too short. David, his siblings and their cousins read 7 Jewish blessings during the ceremony and Susan‘s minister brother married the lovely brides. It was just so beautiful. At the reception, David gave a very charming toast that almost made me cry … then his sisters gave a toast that ABSOLUTELY made me cry. It was just a perfect day of love for family and friends. As I mentioned before, with 8 weddings this year, David and I are taking notes at each wedding in order to help us EVENTUALLY (not yet) plan our special day. We picked up some lovely ideas yesterday :)
The rest of the day was spent with the family in the city. We all went out for Thai dinner last night, ate ourselves exhausted and called it a night. Yeah, we go big in NYC.
Today, for Mother’s Day, we are convening for a family brunch and then … I need to go for a run! It’s been a couple of days. I’m hoping to meet up with friends tonight to see a movie so … we shall see. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, I hope you have an especially fantastic day! Happy Sunday all!
