Just last week Justin Bieber released the music video for his latest single, Boyfriend, and it was watched over 2 million times in the mere hours after it was made available. This week Biebs went onto The Voice to give us a live performance of the single, and closed the show on Tuesday night with a flashy, Michael Jackson-esque performance. Like the music video, Justin’s performance felt a little off to me. The parts where the multiple women are pressing themselves up to the singer and stroking him, made even Biebs look uncomfortable. I get the look he is going for – he is definitely channeling a Michael Jackson vibe with the gold jacket and even the dance moves. Did you see the part when he jumps up onto the podium and does a crotch grab? I also thought that he sounded breathy, especially during the rapped parts. I dunno… maybe I need to watch it again, but I didn’t love this performance. Sorry Biebs, I’m usually a big Belieber. What do you all think though??
He is one of the MANY pop singers who CAN’T SING LIVE! Katy Perry, Rihanna, Kesha, etc…They are all horrible over-produced garbage…Bieber could NEVER sing live…Trying to be JT isn’t going to work when you have 1/4th of his talent if that.
@Smoo justin beiber is IMMENSELY talented. He plays like 6 instruments. And he can sing live. Im not a big “beliber” but i cant deny talent. Hes leaps and bounds ahead of JT.

Bieber can’t sing live PERIOD and to me this is what makes a REAL pop star…Somebody who can actually put on a real show while singing…Beyonce, Pink, JT, Christina (even if she oversings, she CAN sing). Madonna, Gaga, etc… I’m sorry but playing an instrument like Katy Perry “plays” the flute is BS.

It really wasn’t that bad, to be honest. I expected a fiasco, so I guess I was pleasantly surprised.
@smoo – bieber is insanely talented wether you love him or hate him that can’t be denied. He was found on his talent alone. I agree that Katy Perry, Rihanna etc can’t sing live but I’m sorry, Bieber most definitely can, even if he does have a couple of off performances. He’s only human.
Whether* Show me a performance where his vocals match the track he’s singing…Its a general pop issue these days for me….Rarely anybody can sing what they record…This is why I don’t listen to crappy pop that is fed to you…Try The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, The Vines, Bon Iver, Radiohead, etc…
I like the Biebs and I like the video for this song, but this performance was a little lackluster. I am glad he did it live, but he doesn’t have the strength to carry all of the dancers the way MJ did. He was up there but just not quite the focus. I love how they cut away to Xtina who made sure to be groovin’ after that kiss diss.
