Lindsay Lohan Hangs Out With Woody Allen In NYC

Now that we know, officially, that Lindsay Lohan is on the career comeback trail with a starring role as Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming made for Lifetime TV movie, I think it’s safe to say that she is genuinely interested in turning her life around. It could take YEARS for Lindsay to undue all the damage that she’s done to her career before people start to take her seriously … or, she could just take a quick shortcut and try to clean up her image by hanging out with respectable folks. Over the weekend, Lindsay was spotted in the close company of famed director Woody Allen. Might he have a plan to help revive her career? HMMM.

Woody Allen is known for turning Hollywood starlets into respectable actresses, now perhaps he is planning to work his cinematic magic on the faltering career of Lindsay Lohan. The Oscar-winning writer and director, 76, and his wife Soon-Yi, 41, were spotted having dinner with the 25-year-old actress last night at Philippe Chow restaurant in New York City. She was in pretty pure pastels to boot but today Lindsay was back in black and back to her old tricks as she visited high-end purveyors of kinky lingerie and sex toys, Kiki De Montparnasse in Soho. Wearing a white dress, tights, a knee length blue and white coat, and grey pumps, Lindsay looked like she was ready for business. Later she was seen leaving the restaurant with Allen’s wife, seconds after the director walked outside. Lately Allen has been on a winning streak, earning an Academy Award for writing last year’s romantic dramedy Midnight in Paris. And in 2008 he directed Penelope Cruz to an Academy Award winning performance in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Perhaps he is considering breathing new Life into Lindsay’s acting career. The troubled starlet is in New York after a trip to Washington last weekend for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. When she returns to Los Angeles, she will be gearing up to portray Elizabeth Taylor after landing the lead role in upcoming Lifetime movie Liz & Dick.

I mean … what? True, Woody Allen has a knack for helping young actresses achieve cinematic success but … there are limits to his ability to work his magic. I’m not at all surprised that Woody would want to reach out and help Lindsay with her career, primarily because he strikes me as the kind of man who enjoys that kind of notoriety. I don’t have the confidence, tho, that he will be able to fix her career for her. It’s possible, yes. Is it likely? I don’t think so. We’ll have to wait and see if anything comes of this dinner date but … if I were a betting man, I’d put money down on an attempt by Woody Allen to revive Lindsay Lohan’s career. How about you?

Does this girl have a horseshoe up her butt or what? She is the luckiest has-been ever!

I may be just a person who believes in second,or in her case, fifth chances, but i honestly think she can get her life on track eventually and be the success that she was supposed to be. I mean, Im sure if this were 1999-2000 or whenever he had his troubles, you would be saying that you would never suspect robert downey jr to make a comeback either. Lets just wait and see what happens with her.

I admire you positive attitude, but I think the bloom has faded from that rose. It’s not fair to compare RDJ to LiLo because he has talent. She may have once had it, but years of hard living and mistakes have taken their toll and she lost it somewhere along the way.

I get what you’re trying to say but, like I said, Im sure everyone back when he had his problems and was living “hard” said the same thing about how he “used” to be talented. Honestly, lets just wait and see. Btw, Im not really a lindsay fan per say, more of a believer that people who have had problems in there lives can get on the right track with the right support. So by basically bashing her and calling her a talentless has-been doesnt really help someone with problems.

“or, she could just take a quick shortcut and try to clean up her image by hanging out with respectable folks”

Haters gonna hate, at least Trent is predictable where LiLo is concerned

    • @Scott — How, pray tell, is this comment “hating”?

    • Scott

Dare I say that EVERY comment you make at Lindsay, has a dig in it somewhere, you may start off “trying” to be complimentary, but your backhanded flippance always shines through. Maybe give the girl a chance and see if she can turn herself around as your beloved Britney did when it was court mandated that she have a conservator (babysitter).

    • @Scott — Sorry, I’m not “digging” at her. Yes, I try to be complimentary but after years and years of the same crap, she has yet to prove that she is serious about cleaning up her act. Trust me, I want to believe she has changed … every time she says she has changed and yet … no change. If you go back and read the 8 years of posts I’ve done on Lindsay, you’ll learn that I have given the girl chance after chance after chance. Still, who cares what I think? If Lindsay is really interested in fixing her life, she’ll do it no matter what anyone says. I will always have my opinions, I will always voice my opinions. My opinion is that I will believe and laud Lindsay when she gives me reason to. Still, I wish her the best of luck. Always.

She’s looking old beyond her years.
