Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz Comments Publicly On The Death Of Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch

Last Friday we learned the very sad news that Adam MCA Yauch of Beastie Boys passed away at the age of 47 years old. In the wake of Yauch’s tragic and untimely death, the Beastie Boys as a whole issued a statement eulogizing MCA in a beautifully written blogpost. Today we learn that fellow Beastie Boy Adam Ad-Rock Horovitz has issued a personal statement of his own regarding MCA’s passing … which you can read in full below.

as you can imagine, shit is just fkd up right now. but i wanna say thank you to all our
friends and family (which are kinda one in the same) for all the love and support.
i’m glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him.
thank you.

Clearly Horovitz is still reeling from the painful loss of his friend, brother and bandmate. This message to fans is from the heart, pure and raw. I can’t even imagine what it must be like to lose someone so close. The Beastie Boys are family and it must be extremely difficult to deal with a painful loss like this. I, personally, think it is very nice for Ad-Rock to issue a comment because I think it will help others with the healing process. Adam Yauch’s death is still very difficult for many people … hopefully messages like this will help people heal more quickly and less painfully.

Still just totally gutted over this news. Have been so sad this whole weekend.

Adam Yauch was such a sweet and gentle spirit and such an amazing visionary too. Sending prayers to his family and loved ones.

:( we are all wrecked, this is a large part of our coming of ages just…gone. he was more like a friend and brother to their fans than just MCA because they put records out for a long span of years. It just sux. It really does. They are godfathers. RIP MCA, brothers Ad Roc and Mike D, sincere condolences to your family. Shits hard.
