Scarlett Johansson, star of stage and screen, was honored here in SoCal yesterday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Scarlett was presented with the 2,470th star on the Walk of Fame in front of family, friends and fans. As you may know, ScarJo stars in the blockbuster superhero film The Avengers, which opens in theaters tomorrow, so her WoF ceremony yesterday was perfectly timed to promote. Actress Scarlett Johansson received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, just two days before the release of her latest film, “The Avengers.” The 27-year-old received the 2,470th star. Johansson has been acting since she was 8, when she appeared in an off-Broadway production of “Sophistry.” Since then, Johansson received the first two of her four Golden Globe award nominations in 2003 for her performances in “Girl With a Pearl Earring” and “Lost in Translation.” She received additional Golden Globe nominations in 2004 for “A Love Song for Bobby Long” and 2005 for “Match Point.” Other film credits include “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” “The Other Boleyn Girl,” “We Bought A Zoo,” “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “The Island.” Johansson said receiving a star close to Grauman’s Chinese Theatre makes her feel like she’s really made it.
Yes, well, Scarlett‘s star may be near Grauman’s Chinese Theater but it’s actually in front of Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum … so I’m not sure what really says about her ;) In any event, while I feel that there are many other celebrities more deserving of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I totally understand why Scarlett received the honor this week. The stars are handed out around the time that celebs are promoting big films. The Avengers will be one of the biggest films of the year so, the timing was right. In any event, let’s send our love and congrats to Scarlett on this latest accomplishment.
