Yesterday we heard that religious groups have been protesting outside the stadium where Lady Gaga is performing her first concert on her Born This Way Ball tour. Protesters have been labeling Gaga’s work as “obscene” and “tainting” children and have been trying to get her concerts made for adults only. In the wake of all of that, Gaga has now reported that her Korean concert actually attracted record numbers – the second highest gathering of fans in Korean history. She also posted the FIRST PIC of her performing live in concert.
Gaga went to Twitter to tell her fans the news.
“I could barely sleep last night. It was the 2nd highest attendance of fans in the History of concerts in Korea”.
The protesters obviously didn’t do anything to hinder the numbers of Lady Gaga’s fans in Korea. Reports were saying that the Christian Council of Korea were going to take extreme measures such as boycotting Hyundai Cars, who are a major sponsor of Gaga’s tour, just to make their message about Gaga heard. The concert was a clearly a big success despite the cultural opposition to it. Gaga tweeted after the show, “I’m so grateful for all of you, thank you monsters. Last night was like being completely prepared for a moment you could never prepare for”.
In the pic you can see Lady Gaga wearing one of her Giorgio Armani designed costumes. It looks like she is wearing the one with the wings, but her electric guitar is taking over the foreground so it’s hard to tell. Next stop for Gaga on her world tour is Hong Kong, where she has 4 shows. No doubt there will be opposition to Gaga throughout her tour, but seems she keeps pushing through it.
