Beyoncé Knowles Named ‘The Most Beautiful Woman’ Of 2012 By ‘People’ Magazine

See Which Other Celebs are 'People' Magazine's 'Most Beautiful'

It’s that time of the year when People magazine releases it’s Most Beautiful People issue when they crown the year’s Most Beautiful Woman. Last year it was Jennifer Lopez. This year … it’s popstar/actress/new mom Beyoncé Knowles. BUT, Bey isn’t alone in sharing the Most Beautiful title this year … there are other beauties selected by People featured in the magazine as well. From film royalty to actual royalty, People magazine has curated a list of the women who they believe are the Most Beautiful in the world. Click below to see Beyoncé‘s cover photo, read an excerpt from her coverstory feature and find out what other beauties are featured in this year’s crop featured in People magazine’s Most Beautiful People issue.

BEYONCÉ is named PEOPLE’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman 2012 in the magazine’s special double issue, now celebrating its 23rd year.
This marks the ninth time the pop superstar singer and actress has made the coveted list. She is joined by fellow “Most Beautiful Woman” Hall of Famers Julia Roberts (13 times), Nicole Kidman (10 times), and Mad Men’s breakout star, Jessica Paré, a newcomer to the list. The 178 fabulous faces featured in the issue also include such gorgeous guys as David Beckham, Blake Shelton, and Ashton Kutcher, plus PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive, Bradley Cooper. BEYONCÉ is an entertainment force of nature, a 16-time Grammy winner, a beauty and style icon – and is now proudest of the title that happens to be her most recent – mommy to little Blue Ivy Carter. “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” she tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.” The “Crazy in Love” singer, 30, and her husband of four years, Jay-Z, 42, have gone gaga for Blue, born Jan. 7 in New York City. “She’s just the cutest thing,” gushes BEYONCÉ, who croons one-of-a-kind tunes to her daughter and professes to “love” changing diapers. So who does her daughter most resemble? “She looks like Blue,” says BEYONCÉ, who is back to her pre-baby weight and gearing up for her first post-baby concerts, Memorial Day weekend at the Revel Atlantic City. “She’s her own person.” “The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she adds. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

As you can see above, Kate Middleton, Michelle Williams, Sofia Vergara and Charlize Theron are among the Most Beautiful People selected by People magazine this year (curiously, they are all women who have been featured in the headlines lately … hmmm). While pretty much everyone agrees that the Most Beautiful People issue is nothing more than PR fluff, you have to admit … it’s fun PR fluff. These are the celebs that we talk about almost on a daily basis. They interest us for one reason or another … and there is no denying that they are all beautiful. Many of these celebs are more than just beautiful … they’re funny, talented, giving, loving … they’re worth gushing over as fans, I think :) I’ve always thought that Beyoncé is one of the most beautiful women in the world … clearly People magazine and others agree with me … do you? What do y’all think of this year’s crop of Most Beautiful People? Are you impressed? What do you think of the Most Beautiful issue overall? Is it something you enjoy from year to year?

I agree with them 100%. Beyonce is the entire package and im thrilled that they put her on the cover. I cant wait to get my copy bc i am a true fan through and through.

    • Krissy

I agree with them has well. I have always thought Beyonce was gorgeous, but after seeing her Tumblr pictures where she is nearly bare faced, it made me appreciate her beauty even more. Her face is just amazing! Her eyes are like no other (excluding her mom and her daughter, that is!).

    • azotek

      liked this post.

  2. ClaireMichelle

Her cover shoot is beautiful! And I am absolutely obsessed with the jewelry she is wearing! My favorite part about this issue every year is the “Stars Without Makeup” section because everyone always looks even more beautiful than usual. :)

  3. Jenni

congrats to B but these kinds of lists are silly IMO

Charlize Theron has always struck me as a little bitchy, but in an edgy kind of way and for me it makes her incredibly beautiful.

    • Kaye

I think they got it absolutely wrong. I am sorry guys, but I think Charlize is the most beautiful. She’s edgy because she’s not American- She’s South African and she does a lot of good for others. Beyonce is okay, but to me her sister is much more original and less fake. Beyonce needs to broaden her horizons musically, and I think we need to see her doing more for those less fortunate than her. I am happy to see her going back to school to get her G.E.D. but she is not the end all and be all of black beauty. Neither is Halle Berry. I would love to see some stronger black women with deeper roots, those who have overcome bigger struggles than living in an upper middle class family in Texas- be presented as most beautiful. These contests shouldn’t always be based on looks alone (even though Charlize and Paula Patton are both more appealing visually to me). Beyonce is just not someone that appeals to me as an artist or a celebrity in general. She’s cute, but not over the top gorgeous…Sorry

    • I couldn’t agree more! Finally someone are saying it!

    • Ben@pr

I second everything you said!!! So true!!! Also this is so much PR fluff and she’s been pulling so many ridiculous PR tricks when going out with her totally covered baby.

    • Kitty

What are you typing about? You prefer Charlize Theron over Beyonce then go on a rant about “stronger black women” with “deeper roots” PLEASE..just be happy a black woman was nominated for the cover. You are the worse type of hater. “Deeper roots” should not be synonymous with coming from a impoverished background. This is not who can struggle better contest sweetie…its about aesthetic beauty. Cute? I am 100% sure that Beyonce is far more beautiful than you. I can bet all on it. Stop being a hater and start being a congratulator.

  5. lets face it, if she didnt have Blue Ivy, she wouldn’t have made the top of that list.

    • @nicole — Yes, of course … but this isn’t a surprise. J. Lo got picked last year after she got the American Idol gig. It’s PR but fun PR :)

    • Ilene

Agreed! The only reason JLO won has year is because Idol resurrected her dead career that should have stayed in the grave. JLO did not deserve that honor by any means I think Sofia Vergara or Salma Hayek with deeper roots and who are always doing something great for charity should have won. JLO was never a true artist anyway and only has mediocre appeal in my opinion, but I guess she won the charity vote.

    • Tammy

I agree! Jlo’s choice was ridiculous. Glad you agree.

  6. Courtney

the entertainment industry is like a glorified High School prom this is so wrong. why couldn’t they have picked Joely Richardson or someone like that

  7. I totally agree. B is the best choice, with or without a kid. She is so down to earth and gorgeous that is really what helps her to be the most beautiful woman!!

    • ChristineLA

Beyoncé is down to earth? She actually strikes me as completely out of touch with reality, both she and Jay Z live in a way that is completely unrelatable, in my opinion.

  8. This kind of shit is just SO wrong in so many ways. I’ve never been a fan off polls like this. It makes normal girls without a professional stylist, belive that they have to look as god as they does.. What about those people who actually are doing something for the humanity? Aren’t they going to get som kind off a poll for who has the most beautiful soul, or who helped african children the most?.. This is just so ridiculous..

  9. Kate

I don’t see the big deal with this, it isn’t the first year this has happened, just like they have the sexiest man issue (I think that is people). Of course she got it because she had a baby, like Trent said it is all PR, they aren’t going to give it to someone who isn’t in the spotlight they need to sale the magazine, and people are interested in her and her baby so they will read it.
We all have our own opinions of course, but I don’t see how anyone can honestly think Beyonce isn’t stunningly gorgeous! All the women shown were beautiful, of course of they wouldn’t be mentioned. Only one person is going to get it though but they are still 178 other beautiful faces inside.

  10. CHASE

    LOLOLOLOL

    Two words: AS IF

  11. cutitout

Beyonce was selected because they wanted to try and squeeze info about the baby out of her. Great way to get one of the first post baby interviews. I bet they were also hoping to get her to pose with the baby too…. Not that she’s not beautiful, however the timing is suspicious…

  12. Mimi

This is pathetic! Are these people blind? How can you name Beyonce beautiful? She is OK, but in my opinion, there is no natural beauty in this woman. And I have to say, I never liked her voice. She is just an average woman and I don’t understand all that fuss around her.

    • Beyonce is FAAAAAAR FAR from being “most beautiful women in the world” … It’s so many real poeople out there that deserves more ..

  13. Ariel

middlenton only made the list because she married a prince!! she’s not ugly but isn’t beautiful either!!

  14. Maria. G.

Sorry, I highly disgree about her being the most beautiful womam of 2012. There plenty of women who are so much prettier. Remove all the make-up, and all the fake hair what do you get. She is not the most beautiful woman of 2012. There are so many women who might not her monies, but make her look like a sick chicken.

  15. iamchrissy

I know beauty is a objective – everyone has their own opinion & all but I have to agree, she’s absolutely stunning – not to mention talented. I’m don’t always love her music but I have an immense amount of respect for her grind. I just wish they’d stop photoshopping her so much! She’s beautiful as she is!
