Watch: Dr. Dre Delivers A Message Regarding The Touring Plans Of Hologram Tupac

Two weekends ago, Hologram Tupac Shakur took the world by storm after it performed on stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and last night, it took to the stage once again for weekend 2 of the Coachella fest. Since Hologram Tupac made his debut, rumors have been going around that it might go on tour with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre but nothing has been officially confirmed. Today, we get to hear from Dr. Dre himself about the the rumors going around about Hologram Tupac and its possible touring plans. Click below to watch video of Dre explaining to fans exactly how Hologram Tupac came to be and what the future may hold for it.

The inaccurately-titled Tupac Hologram (a.k.a. the “Holopac”) may not be going on a tour anytime soon, at least according to Dr. Dre who spoke last night backstage at Coachella in Indio, Calif. “It was strictly for Coachella, get it right,” Dr. Dre said in a video interview posted on YouTube. “I want to get rid of all the rumors out there. This was not done for a tour.” The Tupac 2D figure’s spectacular debut during Snoop and Dr. Dre’s Coachella performance last weekend led to speculation the virtual hip-hop legend might soon be going on tour. Dre, however, didn’t rule out the possibility: “If a tour happens, we’ll see,” adding “this was done strictly for Coachella 2012, baby, just for you.” Dr. Dre thanked the companies AV Concepts and Digital Domain who made his “dream come to life.” The professional showman, ended the 54-second video interview by explaining the rigorous demands of live performance. “Now I gotta get my ass on stage and rock this motherfucker,” he said.

Let’s be clear here … Dr. Dre did NOT say that Hologram Tupac won’t be going on tour … what he said was that the hologram was initially created for Coachella only. At the time of its creation, there were no plans to go on tour. That said, Dre makes it plainly clear that a tour with Hologram Tupac may happen somewhere down the line. My guess is that Dre and Snoop Dogg are smart enough to realize that taking Hologram Tupac on tour with them is a brilliant way to generate lots of revenue. If they can figure out a way to tour with Hologram Tupac in a way that honors his memory, I know they’ll do it. Dre may have clarified that Hologram Tupac was made “strictly for Coachella 2012″ but he deffo leaves the door open for a possible tour to come. My money says that Hologram Tupac will live beyond Coachella. “If a tour happens, we’ll see.”

I don’t see how this is gross or bad in any way at all. I think it was an awesome tribute, well done, with the blessing of everyone from the people that should be asked. If people don’t like it, then do go see the concert and don’t comment on the posts regarding it. The rest of us will enjoy it
