Just yesterday we heard the messy news about Courtney Love and the embarrassing Twitter events with her estranged daughter, Francis Bean Cobain. In the wake of all that ongoing messiness, we now have news that C.Love actually chose that same weekend to organize an impromptu reunion of her band, Hole. On Friday night following a screening of the documentary Hit So Hard: The Life & Near Death Story of Patty Schemel Courtney jumped up on stage in Brooklyn, NYC, and gave the audience an unannounced performance with her band, for the first time since 1999.
The timing of this crazy reunion is almost ironic. Just days after the Twitter drama, Courtney took to Williamsburg’s Public Assembly for the reunion of the mid-90′s Hole lineup including Patty Schemel, Melissa Auf der Maur, and Eric Erlandson? They played two songs in full, 1994′s Miss World and their take on the Wipers’s Over The Edge. In the clip below it starts around the 4 minute mark.
It is pretty crazy that the audience there got to witness this big reunion for just a few dollars, and had no idea what they were in for. In the clip you can hear the audience screaming and going crazy when they work out who is about to get on stage. It is erratic and unpredictable – just like Courtney, I guess. I do wonder about the timing of this event though… this weekend really was a major step back for C.Love with the Twitter tirade, do you think this could be an attempt at getting back some public goodwill? Hmm….
Check out Hole’s unannounced reunion here… do you think they sound good?
