Get A Close Up Look At What Angelina Jolie’s Engagement Ring Was Modeled On

BLING BLING!

On Wednesday we heard the HUGE news that Brangelina got themselves engaged to be married. First there was a press release from the jeweler, Robert Procop, who claimed to have worked with Brad Pitt to design the ring. Subsequently, Brad’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, released an official statement, confirming the news was TRUE. Last week we only got to see a blurry image of the ring on Ange’s hand as she attended the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Chinese Galleries. Today we have a close up photo which is VERY SIMILAR to the ring designed by the Procop’s. Bling ba-da-bling!

We don’t yet know the details of the ring including how many carats it is, but we can assume that it is BIG. People magazine is reporting that the ring could be more than 10 carats with a price tag of $1 million!!

The ring has been described as having a main solitaire which is an Emerald cut diamond, surrounded by baguettes, the smaller diamonds on the side which have been specially cut to encircle Angelina’s finger. We can see from the replica image, that this sounds a lot like the Tiffany & Co style. We do know that Brad spent months designing the ring with the jewelers but as it seems, the ring is quite similar to the Tiffany classic design.

“Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration with Robert,” Procop’s team said in a statement. “He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect.”

Perfect it is indeed, but would you expect anything less from Brangelina? We will have to wait to see the REAL ring on Ange’s finger, but I expect this will be very soon.

This is different than the close up being shown on People.com–both are enviable though!

I’m actually kind of surprised that she wanted a diamond, I figured she’d be the type to against a diamond because 1. She chucks a lot of traditional conventions and 2. Because of the whole “blood diamond” issue.

I think it’s gorgeous though! I hope they have a wedding and sell pictures for charity(like they did with the babies being born). I would love to see how Angelina does bridal wear!!

    • @Janaegal — I’m quite certain that Angelina made sure her ring was made of conflict-free diamonds. Ahem, of which I, personally, am a fan :)

Though it is certainly lovely and not like anything I will ever get close to in my lifetime, I am not sure why he spent months designing it? It seems so simple. One big ass emerald cut stone with two side stones. What is there to design? Perhaps he searched the world looking for just the right stone. I’m going to go with that.

@Trent…I’m sure hers and yours are both equally conflict free and fabulous. ;)

I’m actually interested in white sapphires for my (sigh, future) engagement ring. Half the cost so he’ll still have money left to get me some Louboutins!!! Lol (but seriously.)

This ring looks absolutely nothing like the ring they are showing on People and E! The ring they are showing is covered in diamonds and appears to have diamonds all around the band, and actually looks unique.
