Courtney Love and Twitter are like a match made in embarrassment Hell. Normally, C. Love’s erratic and messy tweets only serve to highlight her trainwreckiness and further show the world just how, er, unstable she can be. This week, Courtney’s tweets managed to rain a shizzstorm of embarrassment on her only begotten and estranged daughter Frances Bean Cobain. Courtney publicly accused former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl of “hitting on” her daughter Frances … forcing Cobain to issue a statement not only denying the allegation publicly but also pleading with Twitter to ban her mother from tweeting ever again. In response, Courtney issued a public apology to her daughter … but the damage has been done, again. If C. Love was hoping to reconcile with her daughter, I think she pretty much shot that chance to Hell … yet again.
Frances Bean Cobain lashed out at her mother Courtney Love for claiming on Twitter than her late husband Kurt Cobain’s bandmate Dave Grohl had “hit on” Frances and that “she was curious.” “While I’m generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn,” says Frances. “I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I’m in a monogamous relationship and very happy.” Frances adds: “Twitter should ban my mother.” Grohl, the Nirvana drummer who now leads the Foo Fighters, also criticized Cobain’s widow, who had Tweeted that Grohl was “sexually obsessed” with Cobain. “Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant,” Grohl, the married father of two daughters, says through his rep, according to E!. “These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue.”
Clearly realizing that her big mouth (aka her Twitter account) got her in trouble, again, Courtney tweeted an apology:
“Bean, sorry I believed the gossip. Mommy loves you.”
As sad as this is … I’m quite certain there has been much worse incidents than this between mother and estranged daughter. I am constantly amazed at how level-headed and mature Frances Bean Cobain is now that she’s a young, adult woman. It pains me to think that this is the kind of relationship she must endure with her own mother. It pains me, too, to see just how out of touch Courtney Love appears to be with her only child … as well as how out of touch she is with reality. I can only hope that Frances will continue to soldier ahead with her life in a mature and responsible way. I’m not sure I have much hope left for her mother Courtney Love :(0
