I’m not sure if you heard but it stormed something fierce here in LA yesterday. I ask if you’ve heard because anytime a drop of water falls from the sky in SoCal, it somehow becomes national news … at least, that’s how they make it sound on the news programs here. It thundered, there was lightning … it was an actual storm. I hadn’t seen a storm like that in years so it was a nice change of pace. I spent most of the day indoors, only venturing out to run at the gym. I got my workout done, finished reading a book … it was a nice way to spend a rainy Friday.
When I started running, many Pink readers suggested that I pick up the book Born to Run by Christopher McDougall because, I was told, it would be a very inspiring read. I’m glad I listened because I truly enjoyed every page of the book. Reading about ultramarathoners made my marathon training seem less daunting … and it gave me something to push toward. I’m not saying I’m going to run 100 mile races but Born to Run really makes you think that it’s possible. Much love and many thanks to those of you who suggested I read the book. I join the chorus and highly recommend it to other runners looking for an amazing book to read.
Today, Darion and I fly out to Las Vegas for a quick trip. We are seeing Garbage in concert tonight and then will be back home in LA tomorrow. It shall be a blast. I hope all y’all are having a great weekend!!! Happy Saturday!
