Marc Anthony Files For Divorce From Jennifer Lopez

The still-married Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony broke up back in June of last year. Since that time, J. Lo has coupled up with a much younger toyboy and Marc has moved forward himself as a single man. When last we heard from him about the split, he shared with ABC’s Nightline that there was nothing sensationalistic that caused the break-up … even still, neither party officially filed for divorce … until now. Marc has finally moved forward and has officially filed divorce papers to end his marriage to Jennifer Lopez.

Marc Anthony has finally filed for divorce from Jennifer Lopez … Marc cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for divorce. In the papers, filed April 9 in L.A. County Superior Court, Marc is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s twins, Emme and Max — who are 4 years old. Marc wants the judge to shut the door on Jennifer if she asks for spousal support. Marc does not list a specific date of separation, but the couple announced their split back in July. They married in 2004. This will be Jennifer’s 3rd divorce and the numero dos for Marc. He wants each party to foot the bill for their own attorney’s fees.

At this point, we have no idea why it took so long for the couple to start the divorce process … I’m sure there is a reason. Both parties have already moved forward with new relationships, the marriage has been long over. If Marc gets what he wants from this divorce, the split could be clean and easy. My guess is that considering how friendly the pair have been since their split that this divorce will be friendly as well … but who knows. The dunzoness is finally official … hopefully, for their sake, the divorce will be quick and easy.

to me it seemed like they wanted to work out the details before officially filing. which makes sense, less mess.
i have to say i love how amicable this spilt has been. its like finally a divorce with no real scandal behind it.

I didn’t realize that they weren’t divorced yet.
