There has been quite a bit of Alec Baldwin news the past few weeks. On Monday he nearly came face to face with his CRAZY stalker, and had to call the cops on her. We heard last week that he had gotten himself engaged to be married to his yogi girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas, and today, he has tweeted what could be big news… he has insinuated that he is leaving NBC!
Alec posted onto his Twitter page just moments ago… “I think I’m Leaving NBC Just In Time”. Rumors are already starting to fly as to what this cryptic statement could mean. One more obvious insinuation is that he is leaving the show that has made him, in more recent times, 30 Rock. Or else… that 30 Rock is coming to an end? Either way, he is definitely making a biting comment against NBC, and it appears that he has a strong grudge or chip on his shoulder against the TV network. I have often wondered about the irony that NBC is based out of the GE building, which is 30 Rock’s premise.. the show is very caught up within NBC as a whole.
This is what Alec wrote this morning on Twitter…
This whole week in fact Alec has been bashing NBC through his Twitter account… Earlier this morning he said, “The television crew camped outside my apt said they were with the Today Show. #howthemightyhavefallen” and then added, “No one from NBC contacted me until the Today Show arrived at my apt” and topped it all off with his finale – “I think I’m leaving NBC just in time”.
Alec is known for having a bit of a fierce personality, and obviously loves a bit of a feud, but I really thought that he had calmed down, especially since becoming engaged to his yogi girlfriend who practices deep breathing and meditation. Maybe she should start at home…
My guess is that his statement is saying that he is leaving 30 Rock. While not always an Alec fan, I am a Tina Fey and 30 Rock fan, and it would be a loss to TV if the show ended, especially because Alec Baldwin decided to have a tantrum and walk out. But, sadly, the show couldn’t really work without Jack Donaghy… he is essential to Liz Lemon’s existence, right?
