‘Twilight’ Star Taylor Lautner In Talks To Join Adam Sandler in ‘Grown Ups’ Sequel

Last year there was talk going around for a while about Twilight man Taylor Lautner starring in the big screen adaptation of Stretch Armstrong, a film based on the toy of the same name. This never went ahead and now there is new casting news surrounding Taylor. He is in negotiations to join Adam Sandler in Grown Ups 2, the sequel to the 2010 comedy. Most of the cast from the first movie is expected to return, including Chris Rock, David Spade, Maya Rudolph and Salma Hayek. Do you see Taylor Lautner fitting into this crew?

Taylor shot to stardom as the hot teen wolf Jacob in the Twilight films. Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2, the final installment in the series, will be out in theaters in November, so it makes sense that he is looking for the role that will help generate his post Twilight career. If he chooses to go with Grown Ups 2, it will certainly be a big shift for him from what he has been known for, transitioning into a “fun” Sandler-style movie. We don’t know that much yet about the storyline, but it will obviously be a follow up to the original story, about a group of childhood friends who reunite years later. They have signed on the comedic talents, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph and Salma Hayek, so it has a lot of potential, but do you think this will be a good fit for Taylor and a strong career move?
