Woody Allen Has His Heart Set On Cate Blanchett And Bradley Cooper For His Next Movie

Woody Allen is getting started on his next film, for which we don’t know many details yet. He has revealed though, that he has his eye on Cate Blanchett as his leading lady, to play opposite Bradley Cooper. Neither actors have committed to the project, and there isn’t any official casting news, but Deadline is reporting that Woody is in talks with the two actors. Movie veteran, Woody Allen, won the Best Screenplay Oscar for his film, Midnight in Paris, which starred Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams. He also just completed the movie, To Rome With Love, which will be out in June. He is already starting on his next unnamed project. What do you think of Cate and Bradley acting together?

I know that not everyone is a Woody Allen fan, but I am. I agree that up until Midnight in Paris, some of his work hasn’t been his greatest, but I loved Midnight. I am also super excited about his summer release, To Rome With Love. It is starring Alec Baldwin, Penélope Cruz and Jesse Eisenberg (who played Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network). It is described as a story about a group of people in Italy from all different countries, Americans, Italians, locals, visitors, and the romances, adventures and predicaments they get into. It actually reminds me a bit of foreign film, The Spanish Apartment. I just loved that film.

Anyway, back to Woody’s newest film. We don’t yet know the name of the movie, but we do know that he has his eye on the beautiful, Cate Blanchett, and the dashing and hilarious, Bradley Cooper. Bradley is also going to appear in the upcoming third installment of The Hangover Part III. It is definitely a bit of an odd couple, I wouldn’t have put these two together, but maybe that is what Woody is going for – he is after all, a bit left of center, which is why we love him, right?

What do you think the chemistry will be like between Ms Blanchett and Mr Cooper?

I feel like all actors want to be in a Woody Allen film at some point in their career, so I can’t see either of them turning it down. I’m not the biggest Bradley Cooper fan(gasp, I know) but I LIVE for Cate Blanchett.

I am a huge Woody fan, old and new. I’m not really feeling these two, though. Not only do I think they would lack chemistry, but I really only like Cate in more mature roles and Bradley when he plays a douche. Whereas Allen really goes for humorous and neurotic characters. Who I would love to see in a Woody Allen movie are Ryan Gosling and Clémence Poésy.
