Hugh Jackman Tweets Pic From First Day Of Shooting ‘Les Misérables’

A couple of weeks back there was a lot of news about the film adaptation of Les Misérables. There was a bit of controversy going around for a while when we thought that Taylor Swift had been cast in the highly coveted role of Eponine. In the end, Taylor wasn’t cast in the role, musical gal, Samantha Barks was, and the rest of the cast is also extremely strong…Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter. Yesterday Hugh tweeted that it was the first day of shooting and he posted a couple of pics. He is so excited that I can’t help getting excited!

Hugh tweeted, “Day one of Les Mis shoot. Soooo excited!” and posted a pic of what must be his dressing room. The pic is of a sign that says, “Val Jean.” Now we know for sure that this great character, the male lead, Jean Valjean, is being played by Aussie darling, Hugh. The main character is outcast because he stole a loaf of bread to feed his starving children during the time of the economic depression. It is a fabulous character and I do hope this means that Hugh is playing it because he would be a great job playing Jean.

A few days prior, Hugh also tweeted, “what an honour…singing a new song with the composer, claude michel, at rehearsals for les mis!” so he is clearly very excited about the film and who he gets to work with. Hugh is just such a gentleman, a humble man who is so talented. I’m sure they are just as honored to work with him. He posted another pic of himself working with the composer, Claude during rehearsals. I can’t wait to see this film when it’s done!

If you hope Hugh is playing Valjean, maybe you should have researched the movie or something before writing this article. It was announced ages ago that he is playing that role. One would think that for someone so excited for this movie, you’d know who was cast in which roles.

    • @ Corey – Thanks :) @Becky, I didn’t say that I didn’t know what character Hugh was playing, I said now we know for sure..
