First Look: Oprah Winfrey Previews Her Upcoming Interview With Whitney Houston’s Daughter

Last week we learned that Oprah Winfrey managed to score the first interview with Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only begotten child of the late Whitney Houston, and today we get to check out a short preview clip of the upcoming interview. This Sunday March 11, one month to the day that Whitney died, Oprah will talk to Whitney’s brother and his wife and Bobbi Kris on her OWN TV series Oprah’s Next Chapter. Some have speculated that Bobbi Kris decided to talk with Oprah because of money but according to sources close to her, she decided to sit down and chat with Oprah because BK trusts her. Click below to check out the preview video and read more about this upcoming interview.

On Sunday, March 11, Oprah sits down with Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina; her sister-in-law, Patricia Houston; and her brother, Gary Houston, on a special episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter airing at 9/8c, only on OWN. Bobbi Kristina shares personal memories of her mom and how she would like the iconic superstar to be remembered. The family also addresses the rumors and speculation surrounding Houston’s death.

It’s unclear just how much of the program next Sunday will be devoted to Oprah and Bobbi Kris but it seems clear that Oprah will spent a considerable amount of time interviewing Whitney’s brother and his wife. As for BK’s interview, well, I guess we’ll have to wait and see what we get. But now that we know that Bobbi Kris really trusts Oprah, I guess it stands to reason that we may get a pretty insightful interview:

Bobbi Kristina isn’t doing her first post-Whitney interview with Oprah Winfrey because of the money — she’s doing it because the big O’s a close family friend … and Bobbi trusts her to be fair and respectful. Bobbi is telling friends — Oprah “was loyal to my mom, and never did my mother wrong, or made her look bad. She always looked out for my mom.” As a result, we’re told Bobbi feels Oprah would show her the same respect — not bringing up issues that could potentially show Bobbi in a negative light … i.e. substance abuse. According to sources close to Bobbi, Oprah was one of the first people who reached out to her after Whitney passed. So far, it’s unclear if Bobbi is getting paid for the interview — which airs this Sunday.

I know there is great interest in this interview with Bobbi Kristina. It’s been a very long time since we’ve heard from the now 18 year old and in the wake of the loss of her mother, I sincerely hope this interview will prove cathartic for the young woman. I ain’t gonna lie, I’ll be tuning in to watch this Sunday night … will you?

I almost think this is too soon. If I lost my mother, there is no way I would want to go on national tv and talk about it a few weeks later.

No question, I will be tuning in.

Ole O sure does see a great chance to launch her failing tv network when it comes along. Scooping up this interview was not just smart, it is going to prove very lucrative for the future of OWN. Now, I’m not saying I don’t believe that Oprah cares about Bobbi Kristini, but I can’t help but think that Oprah took this as not just an opportunity to show what a great friend she can be, but also what a great network she has on her hands.

Oh, and you bet your ass, I’ll be watching.
