First Look: Taylor Swift Previews Her Music Video For ‘Safe & Sound’ From ‘The Hunger Games’ Soundtrack

Plus, Check Out the Album Artwork for 'The Hunger Games' Soundtrack

In late December we got our first listen of Taylor Swift‘s new song Safe & Sound (featuring Civil Wars) which is the first single from the official soundtrack of The Hunger Games titled The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond. In mid-January, we got to check out a live concert performance of the song at a Civil Wars concert in Nashville, TN. Today we get to check out a short sneak peek at the music video for the song. The full music video for Safe & Sound will premiere Monday night on MTV but right now we get our first taste of Taylor‘s newest music video.

OMG. This is like a double/triple/quadruple whammy for anyone who likes pop culture anything: Taylor Swift is premiering her newest video, “Safe & Sound,” on MTV this Monday, Feb. 13 (!), which also happens to be her song featured on the soundtrack to “The Hunger Games”(!!). That already seems like a miracle ribbon-tied inside of a gift box, but Taylor is also sitting down with MTV after the premiere to answer YOUR questions in a 30-minute exclusive “MTV First” interview (!!!). SO MANY GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING. “Safe & Sound” premieres Monday, Feb. 13, at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV, following by “MTV First: Taylor Swift,” a 30-minute interview where Taylor will be answering fan questions. To ask Taylor a question of your own (or “from a friend” — we get it), tweet at MTV News (@MTVNews) with the hashtags #AskTaylor or #MTVFirst.

If the above embed does not work for you, you can watch the clip on You Tube HERE. Hmmm … it looks like the video will turn out pretty much like I expected it to … Taylor walking thru the barren woods … sounds about right. It’s unclear from this short clip if the video will feature scenes from the film but I’m really hoping that it does. The more I hear the song, the more I like it. I’m actually looking forward to seeing this video in full. As for the Taylor chat, I guess that’s pretty cool, too.

In addition, we get to check out the album artwork for the soundtrack album The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond:

As you may recall, this photo of Hunger Games protagonist Katniss Everdeen is the same one used in the FINAL poster for The Hunger Games.

So, about the preview video above … what do ya’ll think? Are you excited to see Taylor‘s video for Safe & Sound?

I am not at all a fan of Taylor’s music, but this song is SO beautiful. I love the indie vibe.

  4. Yea, I really love this song. And i heard it’s not just premiering on MTV. It’s simultaneously premiering on 3 or 4 different networks which is cool.
