The country music star and Aussie export, (have to get that in :P) Keith Urban has been off singing for 3 months since he had to undergo throat surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal chords. On Friday he made his debut performance since then, returning to the stage in Nashville. By all accounts he delighted his audience and wowed them. Read on for the details…
Taking 3 months off from work when you’re a singer is significant. He would have to reschedule missed dates, physically recover from the surgery and undergo massive vocal training to get his instrument back up and running. It is pretty amazing that after just 3 months he made such a triumphant return to the stage.
The hubby of Nicole Kidman, performed in the legendary Nashville venue, the Grand Ole Opry, and reports are saying that the stage which has been there for 6 decades and would have held some of the world’s best musical performances of our time, is being restored and taken down.
In his first public appearance since his November procedure, Urban, 44, delighted a sold-out crowd with his hits including “Long Hot Summer,” “Making Memories of Us” and his current single, “You Gonna Fly.” Urban’s Opry performance was extra special in that it was the final show before the 61-year-old stage at the legendary Nashville venue is set to be replaced next week.
Congrats on the return Keith and for making such a triumphant recovery!
