Yesterday David and I make a LONG overdue trek down to Anaheim, CA to spend the late afternoon/evening at Disneyland. The last time we went to Disney was last July for my birthday … far too long ago. This time, we just wanted to go hang out for a bit … ride some rides, eat some junk, just play together. We didn’t spend anytime in California Adventure. With all the construction going on over there, we decided to just spend our time in Disneyland itself.

We weren’t in the park for more than 2 minutes when we stumbled upon Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse posing for photos. We have really good luck running into those two characters. Since I brought my Polaroid with me, it was the perfect opportunity to get fun photos with the mice:

Our first ride of the day was Star Tours but because David got car sick (seriously), we decided to ride the older … more gentler rides. We spent all of our time in Fantasyland, riding the oldest and most beloved rides. I was SHOCKED to learn that David had never been on the Dumbo ride before … and he was shocked to find out how fun of a ride it is:

We snacked thruout the night but grabbed bread bowls of steak gumbo near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. After we loaded up on candies and caramel apples, we decided to call it a night. We are so lucky to live so close to Disneyland, we can just drive down any ol’ time we like. If the traffic weren’t such a pain in the ass, I’d be there all the time … believe that.
I really wanted to take Polaroid photos of the park but we didn’t have much daylight. I’m toying with the idea of heading down again next weekend in the day just to snap photos. I wonder if I can get someone to go with me. HMMM.
Today, as you know, is the big Super Bowl day. Honestly, I couldn’t give a darn about the game but I am looking forward to watching Madonna‘s halftime show. I’m hoping to meet up with Ollie tonight for a movie so … that’ll be my Sunday! Enjoy your weekend’s, y’all … it’ll be gone before you know it.

I’ll go with you :)
You should figure out a way to get a press pass for the opening of Cars Land and everything else at California Adventure this summer. I’d love to hear your take on it all…
