More Adam Lambert news… earlier today we reported that his new music video for the single, “Better Than I Know Myself” was out, and now we have heard that Adam will be going on tour with the iconic band, Queen. Trent reported on this in Les News today and now we have more of the story…Comparisons have often been made between Adam and the legend, Freddie Mercury. Adam himself made comments during his time on American Idol that Queen and Freddie were his musical inspiration growing up, and his owl idol. Read on to find out more about the tour plans, and whether Adam feels he could ever replace Freddie.

There are a lot of style, identity and musical differences between Adam and Freddie, no one would deny that. However, Adam himself has admitted that Queen was his biggest influence, so this must be a dream come true for him to play their music, with them! MTV reported that Adam will be touring Europe over the summer with the band alongside the remaining members, and will be including a performance in Knebworth in England, where Queen played their final show with Freddie Mercury in 1986, five years before he died.

“There’s no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie,” Lambert told the Daily Star. “That’s impossible. The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.”
I haven’t heard about them touring the U.S but I suppose they probably will at some stage, which would be amazing! Would you go see Adam Lambert with Queen?

LOVE!!!!
I would pay serious bank to go to Europe to see this show. This made my day!!
I appreciate that Adam says that he could never “replace” Freddie and that he only wants to pay him tribute. Freddie is truly irreplaceable, but I’d be delighted to see a Queen show with Adam as the frontman.
I am the biggest Queen fan in the world and I approve of this wholeheartedly. Adam is no Freddie – because no one ever could be – but Queen is such a beloved band with amazing songs so it’s nice to see that they are going to be performed live in this way. Adam is the perfect choice because he has that big rock voice that no one else has right now so he can actually pull off the big songs.
I see it as a loving tribute and I think Adam does a great job showing respect while still channeling Freddie’s spirit.
Hope they come to the US because I would LOVE to hear Queen live, even though it would be bittersweet without Freddie.
Congrats to Adam for this! He seems like a nice guy.
I do like Adam. I do. But this is going to be the first time an original band does covers of its own songs.
Boy, I wish I could grab front row tickets. This will be one heck of a show. Imagine the talent of Queen with Adam performing together. Kudos to whoever thought of this pairing. Freddie will be smiling.
No question in my mind, I would make it a point and pay what I needed to see Queen with Adam. Yes he will never replace Freddie but he sure is the next best thing!!! Please come to America!!
