Death Can Be A Drag

The TV Guide

Blah. The good news is that the cold I was coming down with back home in Detroit is almost completely gone (thank you meds) but the bad news is that my allergies kicked into high gear late Sunday night/early Monday morning. A few years ago, I used to suffer from allergy outbreaks of hives but these days, I don’t really get them anymore … that is, unless I’m around cats for extended periods of time. Since I was staying at my BFF Sarah’s place last week, I think her two kitties caused my flare up. Yesterday was mostly an uncomfortable day of hives but, thankfully, they have almost entirely gone away today. Since I wasn’t really in the mood to go out, I got to spend some time watching TV … including last night’s FABULOUS season 4 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

As you may recall, we got our first look at RuPaul’s Drag Race season 4 back in November and then we got a second look in December … but last night was the BIG premiere night. I have to say, I’m just so happy that we live in a world where Drag Race is a show that we get to see on TV. There is a lot of intolerance out in the world but shows like Drag Race give me hope that we as a society can be accepting of all kinds of different people … plus, I just really love watching catty and bitchy queens go at one another in fierce competition for fame and fortune. Last night’s season 4 premiere ep was a lot of fun … but I’m calling it right now … my girl Willam is going to win the whole damn thing. I’ve met Willam a few times and the way you see her on the show is exactly how she is in real life … she’s a pro, people. Because she’s already a star, I think she’s got this competition in the bag. But, I have to tell you … I’ve never seen Willam out of drag before last night. He is cute … even with the Justin Bieber hair :) It’s going to be fun watching Drag Race this season. In case you missed last night’s season 4 premiere ep, you can watch it in full right here:

Altho I was feeling kinda crappy last night, this ep of Drag Race cheered me right the eff up :)

I’m glad I’m feeling better today because I have to take my new car in for a routine check-up … so, that’s pretty much my big mission for the day. I’m not sure what my plan for tonight will be but I’m sure I’ll think of something. Happy Tuesday, y’all!!

  1. Best. Show. EVER.

Sharon Needles was my favourite in all the pre-show interviews, etc. and after last night, my opinion still stands.

I thought Willam had some good moments but overall I wasn’t really impressed with her. Maybe that will change though – I remember not liking Raven at the beginning of season 2 and by the end, hoping she would win.

  2. Brooke

I dunno…..I was SO excited about RPDR 4 premiere but felt a little let down once I saw the cast. I feel that it’s the boogeryist cast so far. With the exception of the little Puerto Rican that looks just like Jara Sofia, and Chad Michaels (whom I’ve seen in Vegas and is obvs a professional)I thought the case was fugly. We don’t have any standouts this season :( But overall, I will of course be glued to my TV every week. I luvs me some RPDR and Drag U.

  3. Scottie

Go Sharon! Pittsburgh Represent!!! But I still love me some Willam — “I wanna real vagina there, so friggin’ bad….” hehehe.

Willam has none of the qualities RuPaul respects. He won’t be the next Drag Superstar. Continually bashing showgirls is the first way to insult RuPaul himself. What an smug idiot.
