A couple of weeks ago, Elton John famously got dragged into a public feud with Madonna after she won the Golden Globe award for Best Original Song and he did not. After her win, Elton‘s partner David Furnish went on a Facebook rant attacking Madonna for her win. Today, Elton is at it again. Elton John sat down with Good Morning America today to talk about his upcoming Super Bowl ad for Pepsi and, in fine bitchy style, went on to give Madonna some advice about her upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance. Madonna and Elton John may have made nice, publicly at least, after their Golden Globes spat earlier this month, but the war between the two music superstars just heated up again thanks to a bit of advice offered from John to Madonna. “Make sure you lip-sync good,” Sir Elton told “Good Morning America” of what he’d tell the Material Girl as she prepares to headline the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show this Sunday in Indianapolis. “I’ve never seen a decent one,” John, 64, said of the halftime performances that have become as much of a must-see as the game itself. “Never ever.” John, a native Brit, finds himself in the middle of America’s game thanks to a Pepsi ad he’ll be starring with alongside current “X Factor” winner Melanie Amaro. The ad features John wearing a crown and acting like a king, something the “Rocket Man” singer can’t deny he likes. “I love being the king,” John told “GMA.” “But it’d be too dangerous for me to be the king. I’ve got too many things inside my head that would say ‘off with their heads.’” John directed such “off with her head” ire towards Madonna, 53, when he bluntly predicted on the Golden Globes’ red carpet that the pop icon didn’t have “[an expletive] chance of winning,” the Globe for Best Original Song. “Madonna. Best song???? Fuck off!!!,” John’s husband, British filmmaker David Furnish, wrote on Facebook after she did, in fact, beat out John for the song “Masterpiece” from her film “W.E.” “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism,” Furnish wrote. Backstage at the Globes, Madonna quipped, “I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years. He’s been known to get mad at me so I don’t know. He’s brilliant and I adore him so he’ll win another award. I don’t feel bad!” After the spat went public, and viral, Furnish jumped back on Facebook four days later to respond, “Wow! What a tempest in a teapot my comments regarding The Golden Globes have been blown way out of proportion.” Madonna is expected to give fans an extravaganza of a performance at the Super Bowl, reportedly recruiting LMFAO and Nicki Minaj to make special appearances, and relying on the creative directors behind “Cirque Du Soleil” to style the show. John says, no matter how extravagant, Super Bowl halftime shows consistently lack the one ingredient he says has been a key to his decades-long career as a performer: playing live. “You have to play live, but I don’t think you can,” he said of the shows that have seen everything from Steven Tyler and Britney Spears rock onstage to the infamous “Nipplegate” incident unfold between Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson. “In all fairness to everyone who’s done one before, you may be able to sing live, but it’s really hard to play live,” he said. John’s new advice to Madonna reignites a 2004 debate in which the singer launched into a tirade when he discovered his then-friend was up for a “Best Live Act” award from England’s Q music magazine. “Anyone who lip-synchs in public onstage when you pay 75 pounds ($134) to see them should be shot,” John said at the time, referencing the entrance fee to Madonna’s Reinvention tour. “Madonna, best fucking live act? Fuck off,” he added before asking: “Since when has lip-synching been live?” Madonna’s camp quickly fired back to John’s remarks with a statement that said, “Madonna does not lip-synch nor does she spend her time trashing other artists.”
Elton John has always been a bit of a blowhard but it sounds like he is getting even more pissy in his advanced age. Altho he made sure to clarify that he has never liked any Super Bowl halftime show, he just couldn’t resist getting a dig in on Madonna‘s upcoming show. Undoubtedly, he will throughly hate whatever Madonna does this coming weekend … and David Furnish might offer his $0.02 on Facebook as well. As talented as Elton John is, I can’t help but be completely turned off by his crappy demeanor. He may play a king in his new Pepsi commercial but clearly he is more interested in playing his real life role as bitter and jaded queen.

Puh-leeez! If you’ve ever seen Mad live, she doesn’t lip-synch, my ears can testify to all the sharp/flat notes. However, I definitely got my money’s worth of a vastly entertaining, superb concert event. I don’t buy (into) StubHub or other scalpers prices–just face value tickets.

I don’t enjoy his sour attitude, but I do agree with his statements about the Super Bowl half time shows…It is an accoustical challenge that is really IMPOSSIBLE to overcome. First, you are in an arena has echo issues. Even the lip sync tracks echo. Secondly, the stage has to be set up on a field that is used before and after for football…so there is only so much rigging you can do ahead of time.
There have been half time shows that I like more or less than others…but they are never really “great” in my opinion. I would rather see these artists do their thing in a more controlled and accoustically sound environment.
Ugh…He’s tired and old….done with him. MADONNA still looks awesome and seems to have a better positive opinion about life :)
Madonna looks awesome due to the ridiculous amounts of surgery she has had.
How many procedures is that, Doctor? Surely you are the one who’s been treating her, otherwise how would you be privy to such information as to her “ridiculous amounts of surgery”? What do you gather the number is in your professional opinion?
Furthermore, it’s so refreshing to talk shiz about someone’s looks when the original comment was also stating how she seems to have a better outlook on life than the guy who is, once again, using her name to tear her apart and get himself press. Yet agist douche bags revert back to the only thing they can throw at Madonna these days. It was bound to happen, I suppose.

All hail to Bitter Queen Elton!!! I think deeply he wishes to be Madonna. Her Royal Highness of Pop Queen Madonna is not the type to get into feuds with other celebrities. She might pair with them in work related projects to get some publicity but not with feuds. Anyone remember the VMAs when drunk Courtney Love started throwing things at her in the middle of an interview? And what M did? She graciously walked away. This exactly what she will do with Elton just graciously ignore him. The best revenge is SUCCESS. In 2012 M will get her revenge BIG TIME.
I do think the Madonna’s lipsync live. I mean how could you do all that dancing and singing at the same time. Britney and all the poptart included. At the end of it all their fans just want a fun show, no authenticity needed.
