Popstar Rihanna, who doesn’t know the meaning of the phrase slow your roll, has announced that her song Talk That Talk (Featuring Jay-Z) will be the third single from her album of the same name. After the release of We Found Love and You Da One, Ri Ri is ready to drop the album titled song as her newest single. There’s no turning back now! Singer Rihanna confirmed the title of her next single, the third, from the ‘Talk That Talk’ album by posting a photo of the official single artwork this morning (January 11th) via her Twitter account…and the winner was indeed the title track, ‘Talk That Talk’, featuring new father, Jay-Z! Created by Norwegian record producing team Stargate, ‘TTT’ is a solid joint, with a hard drums/dirty synths production, and a slow, sultry singing by Rihanna. Do I like the single choice? Of course not, because as everyone else, I was too expecting Riri to release ‘Where You Have Been’ and slay the world with it. But I guess she’s keeping it as her ace card for later on this era. ‘Talk That Talk’ is a good song, but if the Bajan beauty was looking for a new #1 hit, I don’t think she’ll find that in the Jay-Z collabo’. It just doesn’t scream NUMERO 1 to me. A high-budget, too awesome vid could change my opinion, so we’ll see.
Right on schedule, Rihanna is churning out the singles. With the announcement of TTT as her third single, we should be getting word about the release of her fourth single in about 15 minutes. BUT, despite the seeming onslaught of singles, I am a fan of the song Talk That Talk. The verse the Jay raps is hilariously entertaining (the bit about the bladder is so gross, so funny) … but I agree with the quoted commentary above, Rihanna still has other fantastic songs on the album that will make great singles when they are eventually released … in, now, 13 minutes. What do y’all think of TTT as Rihanna’s next single? Are you a fan of the artwork?
