Yesterday I helped announce the launch of the #HUNGERGAMES100 Poster Puzzle Hunt which released 100 pieces of a puzzle online so that fans could put together the newest movie poster for The Hunger Games. Today we get to see the completed poster puzzle in full and get to check out the just-released movie poster. We are now just 99 days away from the theatrical release of The Hunger Games on March 23 … when the world will be watching the 74th annual Hunger Games. Click below to check out the poster.
Woot! I love this. It’s a deceptively simple poster that really tells a lot. Katniss alone in a massive stadium flanked by enormous digital screens and countless audience members. We see her from behind but also see her face front in the screens … opposite her fellow District 12 tribute Peeta. I love the tagline “The World will Be Watching” because it’s true … in the film, the fictional world will be watching the Hunger Games take place. In reality, our real world will be watching The Hunger Games film. Brilliant, Brilliant. This is a great poster. I’m very much looking forward to seeing more promo from The Hunger Games.

The thing I am most curious about is how they will handle the violence…and so far we haven’t really seen clues about that in the posters or trailers. From a story telling stand point, I think that is a good thing because it will be more powerful when you do see it. As a fan of the books, the curiosity is killing me! I hope they don’t hold back!

I finally put the puzzle together yesterday! It took all my willpower not to look at the poster! But Ohmygosh, is it amazing! It’s brilliant. Everything from the tag line to the crowds to Katniss. Just perfect. 97 days!!
