Goodbye, 2011

And … that’s pretty much all, folks. We here on the West Coast are currently counting down the hours left of 2011 while folks on the other side of the planet are already well into 2012. Altho 2011 wasn’t a great year for many folks, it was a pretty good year for me. David and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary with an AMAZING trip to Berlin, Germany, I FINALLY got to meet Britney Spears and I end the year happy & healthy. All in all, what more can you ask for? Yesterday I posted my list of my Fave Albums of 2011 and today I present my list of my Fave Movies of 2011. In all honesty, 2011 was not a great year for film overall. Yes, there were some fun movies out this year … yes, there were a few important films but … for the most part, I was pretty Meh about the entire catalog of films that were released in 2011. Movie Review: ‘The Iron Lady’

Yesterday was a fun and productive day for me … I saw my last movie of 2011 and then I attended my last concert of 2011. The movie was The Iron Lady, starring Meryl Streep … the concert was Matthew Sweet at the Echoplex performing his 1991 album Girlfriend in full. ‘Twas a great day full of fun entertainment. Watch: ‘Snow White And The Huntsman’ Releases An International Movie Trailer

Last month we got our first look at the first video trailer for next year’s fairytale action film Snow White and the Huntsman and today we get to check out a newly released international trailer that features a lot of new, previously unseen footage. As you may recall, one of the hallmarks of the first trailer was that actress Kristen Stewart, who stars as Snow White, is barely seen and is NOT heard at all in the clip. Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes Jet Off To NYC To Ring In The New Year

Yesterday we saw a few amazing photos of hottie Ryan Gosling lookin’ all sweaty, barefoot and disheveled as he made his way out of a mixed martial arts training class here in SoCal. It would seem that Ryan went from the gym straight to the airport to meet his ladylove Eva Mendes (without even bothering to change) so that the two of them could jet off to NYC together. As you may know, Ryan and Eva have been creepin’ creepin’ together for the past few months and things appear to be still going very strong. Clearly, Ryan knows who he wants to be kissing at the stroke of midnight tonight. More »

Britney Spears & Jason Trawick Return To LA To Ring In The New Year

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve seen photos of our dear Britney Spears and her new fiancée Jason Trawick out and about in public … in fact, the last time we saw candid photos of the pair was at their engagement party in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. This weekend, Britwick surfaced in NYC as they made their way thru JFK Airport bound for LA. It would seem that Britwick decided to spend the Xmas holiday with Jason‘s family in NY. Clearly, tho, the pair want to be home in LA to ring in the new year. More »

It is that time of the year when I announce my Top Albums of the previous year and altho every single one of us has an opinion and even tho every single one of us ingests music differently, I still think it’s fun to find out what other people think was the best music of the year. It is with that fun attitude that I publish annually my list of fave albums. Some of the albums below may be on your top lists as well … maybe not. Some of them may be liked more than others … maybe not. But these are the albums that I loved most in 2011. Altho they are ranked from 10 – 1, I loved each of these albums immensely all year long. Watch: A Newly Released Russian Trailer For ‘The Avengers’ Features MORE New Film Footage

Early last week we got to check out a German-language trailer for the upcoming superhero film The Avengers which featured a lot of new, previously unseen footage from the film. Today we get to check out a Russian-language trailer for The Avengers that features even more new, previously unseen footage. A Resolution For 2012

So … December 30 … New Year’s Eve Eve … can you believe it? It doesn’t seem like that long ago that we were welcoming in 2011 in the hopes of a fresh and happy new year. I, personally, had a great 2011 … but a great many other people didn’t have the best year ever so … here we are, hopeful again for a better year to come. I’m always hesitant to succumb to making New Year’s Resolutions but, invariably, I almost always do make them. I may not talk about them publicly but within myself, I do make resolutions. I’m not always successful in bringing those resolutions fully to bear but … I try. This year, I’ve come up with a resolution that I’m pretty excited about but I know me and I know that that kind of excitement doesn’t always last. Still … I’m gonna give it a try. More »
