So … let me tell you about my night last night. My dear friend Angie and I decided to celebrate her birthday at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood, CA at a special concert performance by none other than The Cure. The band is performing a 3 night stint here in LA on their Reflections Tour where each night they perform their first 3 albums in full — Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds and Faith. Last night was night 1 of the 3 night residency and without being too hyperbolic, it was one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen in my life.

I mean … I don’t even know how to convey what an amazing show it was. I’m not kidding you when I say that Robert Smith has never sounded better. His vocals were flawless. FLAW. LESS. He sounds as good today as he has ever sounded EVER. It was a dream getting to hear the first 3 Cure albums performed in full. It was as if we got to attend 3 concerts. I was able to film some of last night’s show to give y’all a taste of how amazing the show was. Here is last night’s performance of A Forest:
There was a brief intermission between the 3 album performances and then we got 3 encores afterward. For the encore we got massive hits like Boys Don’t Cry, Let’s Go to Bed, Killing an Arab and more. These are songs I never thought I’d get to hear performed live. Angie and I were absolutely blown the EFF away:

I mean … I cannot … I simply cannot express what a special night last night was for me. That I got to share it with Angie, one of my most beloved music friends, yeah … it was a night I will remember forever.
AND GET THIS … tonight, I’m heading down South to see Morrissey in concert. Because of my Thanksgiving travel plans, I’m missing 3 Moz concerts here in LA this week … so tonight’s show in Escondido, CA (approx. 2 hours away) is my only chance to see him on this tour. So in a few hours, I’m hittin’ the road bound for Morrissey! OY! Crazy but very fun times. Happy Tuesday, y’all!!

Lucky! The Cure is one of my all time favorite bands. You sir, have good taste in music. The Cure is amazing live. Robert Smith sounds like he hasn’t aged a day :)
I saw The Cure years ago for the first time at KROQ’s Inland Invasion concert. I had always just associated them as a band the goth kids liked when I was in highschool. I fell in LOVE that day. They are SOOO amazing live. I am jealous that you got to see them perform all three albums!
The Cure and The Pixies. Am I allowed to hate you yet?
YAAAY! How fun. I would have loved that show. I would not go see The Cure perform anything released in the past 10 years but Id totally go for the first 3 albums, Id go if they just did The Head On The Door album and nothing else. Have fun at Mozz tonight.
I brought my little sister to see them in 2004 (I think?) and they played Lovecats which is her favorite song. I thought she was going to die. It was precious.
Man..That clip made me all gooey inside..I love The Cure so much..And you’re going to be in my territory tonight, Trent! Well, I’m in Oceanside, but close enough! Wooot!
