First Look: The Trailer For Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ Leaks To The Internets
A Return to Form

Director Ridley Scott, who created the sci-fi classics Alien, Blade Runner and more, is readying the release of a new film titled Promentheus that takes us back into the outer reaches of space for another sci-fi adventure. For months there have been rumors about the new film but today we finally get to see something … substantial. First, Entertainment Weekly brings us the first offical promo photo released for Prometheus (along with a bit of descriptive info about the film). Second, we get to see a leaked version of the film’s trailer. It’s a grainy, unclear look at the film that does give some insight as to what Scott has in store for us. Click below to check it all out.

When it comes to sci-fi classics, Ridley Scott has a pretty impeccable record. Not only did he direct the fiery 1979 action-fest Alien, he helmed the genre-redefining Blade Runner in 1982. So it’s understandable that anticipation is running high for Scott’s upcoming sci-fi return, Prometheus, a 3-D space thriller starring Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Noomi Rapace, which is set to hit theaters on June 8, 2012. Lucky for you, EW has the exclusive first look at the film! The top-secret project, about a team of scientists whose spaceship (called Prometheus) gets marooned on a distant planet, has been teased as an Alien prequel, and although Scott and his cast won’t confirm that for sure, they certainly aren’t denying it. “There’s definitely a link to Alien,” claims Fassbender before adding, “There’s creatures in it that you’ll recognize.” But other cast members, like Theron, are playing coy. Says the actress, “I think people should really let go of the idea that it’s an Alien film.” So are the two films related at all? Truthfully, it may be a while before we know whether the $100 million Fox production is, in fact, directly related to Alien, but we do know one thing for sure: People will be very eager to see the finished product.

Somehow, an early copy of the trailer ended up in the possession of … someone … who uploaded a bad cam recorded version of the trailer … which you can watch here:

Yeah, it’s kinda hard to see what is going on … but it’s a nice tease. This bootlegged trailer is being taken down all over so it’s likely that You Tube will yank this video at some point … enjoy it while you can. When it comes to sci-fi, Ridley Scott is a freakin’ genius. I’m really curious to see what he’s got up his sleeve with this new film. Color me intrigued … can’t wait to see more.
