Last month we got our first look at the first video trailer for Angelina Jolie‘s directorial debut film In the Land of Blood & Honey. Today we get our first look at the film’s first movie poster. As you may know, Blood & Honey is a love story set against the backdrop of the Bosnian War. As you can see below, the poster tries to convey that plot point visually. Check it out.

Graphically, the poster is clever. I like the use of blood to show the two main characters. But something about the blood spatter coupled with the title font makes the film look more like an action film rather than a tragically romantic war story. I’m not sure I love this poster as the first poster for Blood & Honey because it doesn’t seem to convey the seriousness of the story. Re-watch the movie trailer HERE and then compare it with this poster. They don’t seem to setting the same tone. Still, I’m terribly curious to see this film … no matter what the movie poster looks like.
