Madonna Confirms That Her New Album Will Be Out Next Spring
"I think the first single is, I’m not sure, February or March"

Earlier this week we saw photos of the QUEEN Madonna in Venice, Italy for the 68th Annual Venice International Film Festival where her new film W.E. was world premiered (to, unfortunately, not great reviews) and while she was being interviewed about the film, questions about her new album came up. In the course of Maddy‘s interviews, she confirmed that she is working with William Orbit on the new disc. She also confirmed that the album’s first single is due out in February or March and the album itself will be released in the Spring. To this news I say, WOOOOOOT!!!!

Madonna talked about her next single and new album during a few promo interviews for W.E. During the press conference at the Venice Film Festival, she was asked about when her next album would be released, but she decided to ignore the question. First, she said : “My new album will mark a new change again.” And now, in a couple of TV interviews, she surprisingly answers and even gives a date for the release of her next single, new album, and kind of confirmed (doesn’t deny) working with William Orbit…

Vincenzo Mollica interview for RAI

Vincenzo Mollica: When do you expect the new record?
Madonna: I’m working on the new record right now. It’s a nice change. So much easier than making a movie.

Gunnar Rehlin interview for SVT

Gunnar Rehlin: Your next studio album is due out next year. You’re going to start working on it next year, are you?
Madonna: I’ve started a little bit of work in the studio and when I go back to New York, until the end of the year, I’ll be in the recording studio.
Gunnar Rehlin: And William Orbit again… What can we expect this time?
Madonna: More good music.
Gunnar Rehlin: When is it due out?
Madonna: Next year. I think the first single is, I’m not sure, February or March and the the album will come out in spring.
Gunnar Rehlin: Looking forward to it.
Madonna: Yeah I’m looking forward to working on it.

We knew the album release was imminent … after all, Madonna did inadvertently announce that she will be going on tour sometime soon. At least now we have a bit of a timeline for when we can expect to hear new music. February/March will be here sooner than we like so, yeah, I don’t mind waiting. I am SO excited that she is working with William Orbit again. Ray of Light is one of my fave albums of all time. I have no doubt that he will help her come up with more inventive music. Cannot WAIT!!. Great music news, indeed!

Fuck yeah. I was hoping WE would turn into a press junket for info on her new album :) I’m thrilled she’s working with Orbit again! I mean, that’s what led her to the Grammy’s!! It’ll be EP to the IC.

  2. Will says:

    Working with Wiliam Orbit again?
    YEEEEESSSS !!!! :)

  3. Me says:

Great news, though I wish she was working with Mirwais again rather than Orbit.

  4. MM says:

Eeeeee! Such good news! So excited that she’s back working with Billy Bubbles!! Spring can’t get here fast enough!!!!

  5. DJ says:

William, Mirwais, who cares, as long as she stays away from Timbaland and Timberlake! I didn’t mind some of the songs on Hard Candy (Give It 2 Me rules!) but overall, it was kind of a stutter step.

But new Madonna!! FINALLY!!!!!! Show that dumb as Gags how it’s done, lady!!!!

  6. SASHA says:

great news! trent, i’m so glad you’ve always referred to madonna as maddy. my friends and i did growing up as well, and then suddenly it was eclipsed by the less interesting ‘madge’. everyone seemed to forget about ‘maddy’. anyway, it always brings a smile to my face to read it in your blog.

madonna + orbit + martin solveig = sounds like a great mix …

and very agree with the timbland/timberlake thing…
The only good thing from Hard Candy was Give It 2 Me and it wasn’t produced for that idiotic dinamic duo

by the way, i think this is the perfect moment to let see Gaga who’s the authentic and the only Queen of Pop

Thank god she’s not working with Timbaland and Pharell again, Hard Candy was the biggest piece of crap. Only good songs were Miles Away and 4 minutes. The tour was terrible too. Style of music did not work for her at all, she was trying too hard. I think she thought since they did such a great job with Nelly Furtado that they would do the same for her – it didn’t! Can’t wait to hear the new stuff next year!!! Was about to give up on her, thank god she still has some sanity left

I absolutely agree….she was trying to hard with the Hard Candy CD and tour……on the tour when she tried to update her past hits, they came off with horrible results…the only decent rework was “like a prayer”…the Hard Candy tour was the least favorite of mine and I’ve seen her on the past 4 tours.
