A source tells In Touch that Jess has quite told members of her inner circle that she and fiancée Eric Johnson are expecting their first child together. The Is She? or Isn’t She? speculation is over. In Touch Weekly can exclusively confirm Jessica Simpson is pregnant! The 31-year-old singer recently attended the 32nd birthday party of her fiancé, Eric Johnson, where she sent back her glass of champagne for a birthday toast. As it turns out, the pair has something even better to celebrate. A source close to Jessica and Eric tells In Touch the couple is expecting their first child. “She’s already having kooky cravings!” a friend shares, especially nacho chips dipped in chocolate — “which satisfy her urge for salty and sweet” — cheese-flavored popcorn and non-alcoholic margaritas. Now, despite the fact that there will be one more “guest” (and that “Jessica might have to take out her dress a bit”), their plans to marry in November haven’t changed. While it’s true that not everyone would consider the timing ideal, the friend says the couple considers the baby to be “the best wedding gift ever.” Luckily, she’s not due ’til spring, leaving them just enough time to be newlyweds before new parents.
To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jessica did turn out to be pregs. As far as rumors go, Jessica and ex-husband Nick Lachey just couldn’t agree on babies … hence, the end of their marriage. While it might’ve been a better idea for Jess to wait until after she got married to get pregs, all babies are blessings. If this is true- some friends she has sharing this information with the magazine. I’m actually starting to feel bad for some of these recognized people. They can’t trust thier “friends”. That being said, if she is pregnant-hope the pregnancy goes well and she and the baby are/remain healthy.

I second that. It was the other way around. He’s older; wanted to settle down, have kids, and all that fun stuff. Her career was basicaly soaring, so she didn’t want kids yet. Plus, I don’t even think she even liked having sex with him lol
you two are both right. It was the other way around. Nick wanted out of the spotlight and to have a family and Jess wanted to eat up the spotlight and fame she got from Newlyweds. When you watch his “Behind the Music” right when his album came out he cries talking about Drew having kids and how he wants a family. ugh :-(
everytime she wears something loose fitting…shes expecting..i mean really..how many times can a girl be pregnant in one year?

I think Jess got sort of a bad rap w/the not wanting kids thing back then. She was very young when she got married, why wouldn’t she want to experience life a bit more and enjoy her career a bit before having kids? Just obviously her & Nick weren’t on the same page and the age difference came into play. Whether she’s expecting or not, I hope she finds happiness, just as Nick has with Vanessa.
Do people think that the moment you get pregnant you get a noticable baby bump? Seriously, you don’t get a sizeable bump for months. She wears loose fitting things all the time. I’m taking this with a grain of salt for sure.
I am so over baby bump stories! I understand why Trent has to pass on the hot gossip of the day, but I don’t like the way tabloids start these rumors all the time. They have said Jennifer Aniston has been pregnant like 12 times or something!
1. I think a woman’s reproductive system is her business ONLY.
2. I think it leads people to be overly critical of women’s bodies, especially their tummy area.
3. Miscarriages happen all the time, even to young healthy people. Early announcements can have very sad consequences.
If Jess is expecting, I will wait for her to announce.
I’m with you on #2, Krissy. I can’t stand how people criticize pregnant celebrities and then somehow expect them to magically drop the ‘baby weight’ when their kid is 2 days old. I think it also creates an unrealistic standard for those of us who can’t afford an army of nannies, personal chefs, personal trainers, gyms in our homes, and a stylist.
I think by that Krissy meant that we now have this idea that if a young woman isn’t stick thin or has a little extra in her mid-section she must be pregnant. It’s really harsh and a huge esteem killer when someone starts rumors or asks if you’re pregnant when you’re not, you’ve just got extra weight in that area. I’m sure Jessica is just like every other woman in that regard, the “oh, um actually I’m just a little pudgy in that area” response is beyond awkward!

@Rus — I’m not saying I believe this just yet … I’m saying I wouldn’t be surprised if she did get pregs at this point in her life.
Makes you wonder what was the REAL reason she called off her wedding for now? Maybe she didn’t want to be a “fat” bride walking down the aisle?! Congrats if she is!
Aside from not liking all the celebs who have babies out of wedlock, if Jessica is preggers, I hope they are both healthy. I also read and heard lots of stuff about why JS and Nick broke up. Kids and her career were bit part of it but her constantly present interferring micromanaging father really drove Nick over the edge. Wonder how Eric has escaped the chaperone. Not a bad gig for Eric, unemployed, broke and marrying the extremely wealthy business woman Jess. He sure got the gold ring.
The poor girl, every time she leaves the house someone is criticizing her for one thing or another… her pants are too high, her clothes are too tight, her clothes are too loose. She can’t win! Maybe Jessica just had a really large roll with her lunch and she’s a little bloaty… I feel like that every time i eat bread (ha-ha)!
If she’s not, okay, if she is, CONGRATS! She’ll make a good mom :)

It seems to me chocolate nachos would be an ordinary snack for Jessica (she likes quirky things) and doesn’t indicate an insane craving. Certainly, it’s crass to jump to such a conclusion based upon such a thing.
