In the past few weeks we’ve seen super hot photos of Henry Cavill in costume as Superman on the set of Man of Steel and we’ve seen photos of Antje Trau in costume as villainess Faora on set … but today we get to see the main BIG BAD Michael Shannon in costume as General Zod. As you can see in the photos below (kinda), it appears that Zod will wear a costume very similar to Superman‘s costume … but in all black. He looks pretty sweet, to be honset. Check him out below.
It looks like Zod (Michael Shannon) will be wearing the same suit as our new superman (Henry Cavill) his but in black. I can’t tell what his insignia looks like from there but it might turn out be like the letter ‘Z’ probably.
Altho these photos are kinda grainy, and snapped from far away I really like this first look at General Zod. I love the idea of a entirely black Superman suit. I have to admit … these early set photos keep getting me more and more excited for Man of Steel. I can’t wait to see more. I hope we get to see Superman and Zod in some sort of face-off … soon!

Yay! No more creepy v-neck!
I dig Michael Shannon, everything from in BUG to Herzog’s MY SON, MY SON, WHAT HAVE YE DONE to BOARDWALK EMPIRE — distinctive.
If it’s a “Z” on front I will hurl myself into traffic. Anyone who suggests that must be a moron. The symbol that looks like an “S” is actually a Kryptonian family crest that happens to resemble the English language “S”. If a “Z” shows up on Michael Shannon’s costume, that implies that a far off planet somehow evolved thru time with the same type/characters as on Earth? Preposterous. (and yes, that IS way more preposterous than one of them being able to travel to earth or have the powers they do.)
