Last month Entertainment Weekly magazine gave us a whole slew of new photos from the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games and today we get to see two more photos. Movie stills from the film mysteriously made their way to Tumblr this week, suggesting the photos are a leak and not an official release. The photos are not at all spoilery … so if you want another look at Katniss and Peeta, check out the photos below.
I can’t be sure but these photos make it seem like the characters are already competing in The Hunger Games. Katniss looks ready to pounce on … something. Peeta looks either injured or resting. I suspect there are more movie still promos like this out there … and that we may be seeing them at some point … after a bit more leaking. I’m always happy to see promos like this … I hope we get to see more.

Last week they were shooting in downtown Charlotte, which is where i live. They had crazy hair/clothees, and pink dogs! I think it’s safe to say they were Capital people lol. I’m pretty sure that they were here filming for the ball.

Hmm have to say I think Jennifer is a little too pretty to play Katniss. Not that she’s supposed to by ugly, but I have never interpreted her as an obvious beauty. Still excited for the film though!

Peeta is starting to grow on me, but Im still not sold on Katniss. I have to agree with Lauren she’s too pretty. *shrugs*
I was really, really hoping they’d somehow manage to transform the fair-skinned/light-haired adult-looking Jennifer into a skinny olive-skinned/black-haired small-teenage Katniss.
Sadly, there is apparently a limit even to the makeup gods of Hollywood. Bah. I’m sure she’ll do a great job ACTING the part, but she doesn’t look the part in the slightest. What a shame.
And c’mon. Aren’t her eyes meant to be grey? They couldn’t have coughed up for some contacts? Jeeeeeez!
I don’t agree with the casting directors choice for Peeta, I’ve seen the guy playing Peeta in a few other movies and he’s OK, but he isn’t Peeta. Nor is the lead actor playing Katniss. If the right actors are not chosen to play these parts, then the movie will not be a success. This comment may upset some folks, but that’s life. I love the books and wanted this movie tho be a success, but it will not, at least not critically. The fans will come out in droves, and the movie will make millions of dollars, enough to make a second adaption of this movie, but the critics and true fans will rip this movie apart, starting with the actors, and director.
@lola — while I can understand your position, i think it is far too early to predict how this film will critically … particularly since we’ve only seen a handful of PHOTOS at this point. imho, it’s far too early to judge acting ability particularly because we’ve seen NOTHING yet.
