Last week, after many many years, we got to hear the first snippet of new music from the band Garbage. Today we learn from the band itself that they have finished mixing one of their new tracks and plan to release it in October! Folks, that is just about a month and a half away!! We just finished mixing a track! You’re gonna hear it in October!

OMG. I can barely contain myself. This is amazing news. When we saw photos from the band’s first photoshoot in 6 years just a few days ago, I knew they were close to announcing the release of new music. I rightly guessed that we may be hearing new stuff in September or October. The band has been working hard in the studio all month long … just a couple of weeks ago, they recorded new stuff in the very same studio where The Mamas and the Papas recorded California Dreamin’:

Omg we’re in an old school studio today! California Dreaming was recorded in this room! And Sinatra!

I am dying … dying, dying, dying. Garbage is one of my fave bands and the thought of new music so soon is just too much. This year has been a fantastic year for new music. New tunes from Garbage is just … everything. I. Cannot. Wait.
