First Look: The First Photos From Madonna’s Film ‘W.E.’ Hit The Internets
The Film will Debut Next Month

Last year we saw photos from the filming production of Madonna‘s next directorial film W.E. Today, just about a month ahead of its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, we get to see the first official stills from the flick. I have to say … nothing that I’ve seen or heard about the film has really gotten me interested in seeing W.E. I mean, obvs, I’m intrigued to see Madonna‘s next attempt at film direction but … I’m not sure I need to see it. Check out the photos below and see if they spark your fancy.

W.E. will premiere on September 1 at the 68th Venice Film Festival and will enjoy it’s North American premiere on September 12 at the Toronto International Film Festival. Very soon we will find out if W.E. is worth seeing. Without question, Maddy‘s strength lies in her music … not her films. BUT, I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Again, I’ve yet to be intrigued by W.E. but … we’ll see. Does this film look like something you’d like to invest your time and money into?

Swept Away was directed by her then husband, Guy Ritchie, NOT her and while I don’t love it, it got an unfair rap and it not that bad really. Everyone knows the worst Madonna movie is The Next Best Thing.

I think those photos looks lush and beautiful, looks like it will be a great movie, I cant wait, and yes this is Madonnas first major movie as director

Regardless of whether it is really a good film or not, it will be judged much more harshly than any other film by a 2nd time director. Hopefully, people will be able to separate the other things Madonna has done in the arts from her work as a director. It’s very doubtful, though.

So long as she isn’t acting in it I think it could be good. I love Madonna but apart from Evita her acting really, really does not impress…same with Justin Timberlake. Some singers should stick to singing. ;)

But yeah so long as she doesn’t act, I could see this being interesting. I think she probably suits a director’s role more than actors anyway!

I hope it’s a good movie. That said, I really wish she’d chosen a different topic. This is a highly unpopular story in England, and there are some serious skeletons in the closet like cheating on Edward with a used car salesman. Their highly unsympathetic portrayal in the highly popular “The Kings Speech” is a good example of how they are seen. Everything I’ve read about Wallis conveys her as cold and controlling, so I have to say I’m not interested in watching a snow-job biopic. Sowy!
