Prince William & Kate Middleton Go Boat Racing In Canada
She Let Him Win ;)

Prince William and Kate Middleton continue to enjoy all the fun that Canada has to offer and spent part of their weekend participating in a dragon boat race on Prince Edward Island. Wills and Kate were on opposite teams … and he won. But in Kate‘s defense, I’m sure she just felt sorry for him and decided to let him win to save face :)

It started with some friendly rivalry and ended with a consoling hug from the winning prince. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went head to head in a dragon boat race across Dalvay Lake in Canada Monday. The royal couple, who enjoy battling it out in tennis and other sports, showed off their competitive spirits at the Prince Edward Island boat race, in which they lead teams of local athletes. Asked who was going to win, William told PEOPLE, “We are. Of course!” When Kate approached with her team, she was less certain. Asked if she would win, the duchess replied: “Not sure about that. I’m feeling slightly nervous.” Kate, in open-necked sweatshirt and slim navy trousers, was asked by photographers if she would stand at the bow of the boat the whole way. “I’ll try to!” she answered. At the end of the race, it was William’s team that came in first by a third of a length. William gave Kate a hug as they stepped off the jetty, but showed no signs of regretting his victory. “No chivalry!” he said as he accepted the prize of a bottle of champagne.

I gotta say … I’m loving Will and Kate‘s Excellent Adventure. I mean, I know it’s kinda work for them but it looks like a fun holiday as well. I can’t wait to see what they get up to next.

I found out this morning that Will and Kate are visiting Slave Lake tomorrow. Slave Lake is a town in northern Alberta that almost two months ago was affected by a wild fire that destroyed 40% of the town. The whole province’s response has been overwhelming (I live in Edmonton which is 3 and a half hours away) to the disaster. Seeing the Royals I know isn’t a big deal for a lot of people but it is nice that they’re taking time to visit the town.

I was in PEI on vacation and had a chance to see them race. They were absolutely adorable with each other and incredibly kind and gracious to everyone! I hope they enjoy the rest of the Canadian tour!
