Watch: Pixar Releases A First Teaser For Their Next Animated Film ‘Brave’
"It is the one thing we must always be"

In March we got our first tease of Pixar Animation‘s first female protagonist Princess Merida, the star of their next animated film Brave. In May we got our first good look at her when Disney/Pixar released the first official promo photos. Today we get to see Merida in action in the first trailer released for Brave, which is due out in theaters next Summer. Click below to watch the trailer in full.

LOVE this trailer!! Short, sweet and to the point. It’s about damn time that Pixar featured a female character as the lead of one of their films … and I am so happy that they chose to go with such a strong character. Princess Merida will kickass in Brave, I just know it. I can’t wait to see her take the reigns as Pixar‘s first female lead character. She’s awesome, ain’t she?

i love that shes a red head. i think the red headed girls (and boys) need this right now cause for some reason, they get the worst of bullying (like that whole kick a ginger day thing) hopefully this give some of those loveable reds a big confidence boost.

i totally agree! i am a red head and i got bullied a lot as a kid. plus, in most movies or tv shows red headed kids are usually pictured as mean or annoying. the only positive one i can think of was Pippy Longstocking.

Love that they have a heroine that’s not only red-headed and cute, but looks like she’s can kick some serious butt. Go Pixar. Can’t wait to see this movie. Now if they can just do Incredibles 2. Did South Park kick off that whole “kick a ginger day”?
