Tragic news to pass along today. According to a new report from TMZ, one of the castmembers of the MTV and feature film series Jackass died in a car accident early this morning. Ryan Dunn, who was an original Jackass castmember, appearing in the TV series and films from the very beginning, was killed in a car crash that also took the life of another as-yet unidentifed person. TMZ has confirmed this news from April Margera (the mother of fellow Jackass castmember Bam Margera). Read on for all the known deets about this tragic accident.

Wow … this is very sad news. Ryan just celebrated his 34th birthday on June 11 … far too young to be taken in an accident like this. I’m sure more details will be released concerning this car accident but let’s send our love and deepest condolences to Ryan‘s family today.

We’re told the car caught fire in the crash — and hours later, a tow truck was called to the scene to remove the charred wreckage. Just hours before his death, Dunn posted a photo on Twitter showing himself drinking with friends … “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn was the driver in this morning’s fatal crash … this according to cops who also say Dunn’s car was “fully engulfed in flames” when officials arrived to the scene. The West Goshen Township Police Department says officers found Dunn’s 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 “off the road and in the woods.” Both Dunn and his passenger “died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.” Cops will release more information on the passenger once officials can positively identify the body. Cops say “speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident.” An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Ryan Dunn, made many of us laugh and allowed us for a moment to forget our problems at least for me, I think we owe him the respect just like we would want it for each of us to give his entire family/jackass family their time to mourn… We are all human, we make mistakes but that does not give you the right to point fingers…. I personally thank you for the laughs you gave me… You will be missed… RIP RYAN
