Holy shizz … this film looks amazing. I know that fans of the original Swedish films may balk at a US version but, as I’ve said all along, David Fincher will do the films justice — I know it! With a soundtrack by Trent Reznor of NIN, it’s a can’t miss film! I love the original films and can recognize each and every scene featured in this new trailer … it looks good y’all. I don’t know how I’m gonna make it until Xmas to see this film but … yeah, I am excited!

Oohhh!! This looks so good!! I really loved the originals and this looks like it’s going to be just as good, if not better! I mean..Daniel Craig!! It’s already better!!

  2. alyse says:

Looks amazing! Rooney Mara looks like she will do an excellent job

  3. Hunter says:

I just came buckets hearing Karen O back by unmistakably NIN sound. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant who? nah I love ‘em too.LOL

  4. Bb says:

    Rooney’s non-eyebrows are very distracting… I know that’s a silly thing to notice.

I’m sure I’ll get the same feeling as when watching Let Me In. Yeah, good movie, but what’s the point? It didn’t add anything to the awesome original

The point is that David Fincher is basing his movies on the books, and not the swedish films. I don’t know if you have the books, but the swedish films left a lot out. From the first time I started reading these books I knew David Fincher would be the perfect person to direct/recreate this story for the big screen. I’m sure it’s going to blown the Swedish versions out of the water.

Looks good but I am so not a fan of movies released on Christmas Day because it’s so competitive. If this truly is a good movie then it deserves a release date before Christmas to get its money worth… I could be wrong, but usually family movies and such will drown this at the box office.

As a huge fan of the original I can honestly say this looks great!

if it is possible i have less than zero idea what this is about. lol. i heard the books were great, but haven’t read them. so this trailer is not in the least bit exciting to me. i guess i need to read the books. gah… there are so many things i have on my “to read” list. good thing the shows are all over and i’ll have time when my 3 boys go to bed to read!!!

I think it looks amazing! Fincher is so great at creating a mood and vibe in his films. The pacing and the feel of this promo blows my expectations out of the water. I knew he would do a great job, but that looks incredible. I think Daniel Craig will add a lot to the film as well.

I think it was silly that people got upset about an American version of the movies. That is the wonderful thing about books…they can be interpreted in different ways. A good story can be filmed a hundred different times, and they might each add something interesting to their version. It doesn’t take anything away from the books or the original movies to try framing it in a different way.

@Krissy — “think it was silly that people got upset about an American version of the movies. That is the wonderful thing about books…they can be interpreted in different ways.” Amen!!!

Perfect. Someone read my mind. Trent reznor AND Karen O AND my fav Zep song. Hope the movie is as good a package ( and can live up to original ).

A huge fan of the original. From the bits and pieces, it seemslike it hasn’t been toned down…can’t wait!

  12. Emma says:

Wow! This looks amazing, I loved the books, I was a little bit underwelmed with the Swedish films though not sure why. I can’t wait to see it.

    • Same here. And that’s the general consensus from basically…the whole world. The Swedish films were really slow and flat. I’m excited to see what the US and our propensity towards excessive everything will do to these books.

  13. Rebecca says:

I was dreading the remake. I LOVE the original. But it doesn’t look bad… So far. I’ll make my final judgement once I’ve seen the whole thing.

  14. Brittny Doll says:

Yummmmy Best Led Zep cover! Karen O…NIN! Ya my mind is having happy go lucky seizures.

  15. Jenny says:

This is going to be brilliant!

  16. Missy says:

Overall I think this could be better than the original but not really liking this Lisbeth’s look.

  17. Heather says:

I ADORE the original film versions. I really hope they did not tone it down for American audiences– U.S. versions of films like these have a tendency to balk at sexual violence which is a core piece in the novels.

I will definitely try to go see this– my family always does a movie marathon after Christmas where we all get together and choose three or four films to see in a crazy day at the cinema. This one is on my list for sure!!

looks like its going to be amazing! the soundtrack was perfect- the very begining reminds me of the soundtrack from romeo & juliet, the leonardo & claire version.
anyway, random, but i cant’ wait!
