Britney Spears‘s official website has been updated with a new video interview of our dear Britney talking about her new album Femme Fatale. In addition to the release of this new interview is information that Britney will be hosting a private dinner party at a residence in Beverly Hills, CA next week in order to raise funds for The St. Bernard Project which benefits the victims of Hurricane Katrina. And here’s the best news … YOU can attend the dinner party … that is, IF you can afford the pricey ticket. Spears is hosting An Evening of Southern Style on May 11 in Beverly Hills. The sit-down dinner at a private residence will benefit the St. Bernard Project, an organization that continues to help Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. The group has already rebuilt homes for more than 350 families with the help of 32,000 volunteers, but there’s much more to be done. “I am so honored to be a party of this cause,” Spears said. “Louisiana will always be a part of my soul.” And guess who’s doing the cooking? No, not Britney, but her professional chef dad Jamie. Papa Spears’ menu will include Louisiana shrimp and grits, jambalaya and soft shell crab fish fry, among other things. It’s certainly got me all hungry just thinking about it. For tix, visit stbernardproject.org. The United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area has agreed to match the first $100,000 in donations.

Okay … here’s the kicker. If you want to reserve a table for this charity dinner party, hosted by Britney Spears, it’s gonna cost you $10,000. If you want to just buy a single ticket to attend the affair, it’ll only cost you $2,500. Yeah … that’s a lot of money. BUT, the funds raised will go to The St. Bernard Project … so that’s the best news. It costs a lot of money to build homes for people. As much as I LOVE Britney, I don’t think I’ll be able to afford to attend such a lavish affair but I do hope that those who have the means to be so luxurious will do so and help St. Bernard reach their fund raising goal.
